I'm certain this is "Smut."
I'm certain this publication was considered "smut" when it was originally published and some would still consider it "smut" today. It is a harmless publication with a few photos that could hardly be considered "racy" by today's standards. The stories here deal with murder, drug addiction, interracial relationships and other topics that are now accepted, if irrationally in regards to crime, as part of our daily lives.
I initially read this vol. because it was the first piece posted, alphabetically, in the Pulp Fiction Archive. I was surprised to find it contains a piece of absurdist crime fiction by Otis Adelbert Kline. I wish I could add mr. Kline's name to this list of topics in for this publication and hope this may be done by the archive moderators.
