From the collection Dr. David P. Chandler on the site http://papaintellivision.com/
The documents herein regard the Mattel Electronics Intellivision project ranging from its inception in 1977 until the end of Chandler's involvement with the company in 1983.
This document from August 23rd, 1982 focuses on a conversation between Dr. David Chandler with engineers Jerry Comisar and Jason Soo regarding the use of a Disk Operating System, presumably for the Intelliputer project. They discuss the prevention of piracy through a custom ID ROM chip, gathered from two hobbyist comptuer sources of the day: Byte Magazine and Beneath Apple DOS. They hoped a proprietary internal format would be able to prevent any unauthoritzed disk copying from their hardware.
