This document features several papers regarding Mattel’s research into further Videotex display systems. Pages 1 to 15 relate to the purchase of Home Terminal Systems by Automatic Data Processing in July of 1981. Pages 16 to 20 talk of specific hardware applications from a Videotex system including a remote keyboard interface. Pages 21 to 48 discuss an ongoing project between Mattel and Chemical Bank called the Viewdata powered by a Mattel Intellivision. Pages 26 and 27 specifically mention PlayCable as a separate service. Pages 44 to 47 examine direct competitors in the Videotex market.
Pages 48 to 50 from January 26, 1983 discuss prices related to semiconductor manufacturing by the company VTI. While not specifically noted, it’s possible that these figures were specifically for specialized hardware which was to power the Viewdata terminal system.
