From the collection Dr. David P. Chandler on the site http://papaintellivision.com/
The documents herein regard the Mattel Electronics Intellivision project ranging from its inception in 1977 until the end of Chandler's involvement with the company in 1983.
This document collects a wealth of documents relating to negotiations between Mattel and Sony for evaluating the worldwide gaming market and for direct distribution of the Intellivision in Japan. The documents span from September 2, 1982 to January 28, 1983 covering a fierce ongoing negotiation of terms. Mattel’s main liaison was Stav Prodromou and Sony’s main liaison was Nobuyuki Idei. The proposal was rewritten several times and provides an interesting window into negotiations between two foreign entities. The final page appears to state some optimism for going forward with negotiations, but nothing ever materialized. Bandai would end up being the distributor of the Intellivision in Japan.
