Wide Area Information Servers demonstration video by Franklin Davis of Thinking Machines from 1989 (but possibly 1991). This system, based was a precursor to the gopher and the World Wide Web, was a distributed client-server publishing system invented by Brewster Kahle and developed by Thinking Machines, Apple, KPMG Peat Marwick, and Dow Jones in 1989. There was a public open-source version of the client and server distributed in early 1991.
