In the early 15th century, Isabel Dutton, wife of Christopher de Southworth, claimed to have 8 barons of the group of 25 who were chosen to insure the terms of Magna Carta were kept by John, King of England, as ancestors. This determines whether or not her claim was truthful and who those eight barons were.

Albert Matelena (1895-1978) was born in Manhattan and grew up in Trenton, NJ. He served in the 311th Infantry Regiment, 78th Division of the US Army and saw action in the St. Miheil and Meuse-Argonne offenses. He was wounded in October 1918 and was posthumously awarded the Purple Heart in 2005. This 2nd edition contains additional information that supplements the 1st edition.

Valentine William Smith (1924 - 2006) lived in Trenton, New Jersey from 1928 to 1978. During World War II he served on Tinian Island as a member of the 3910th Signal Service Corps. Brother John J. Smith, 2nd Lieutenant, US Army Airs Corps and sister Margaret Smith, Sergeant, USMC also served in the war effort.

Biography of Jan Jansen van Haarlem (c1585-c1640) and his son Anthony Jansen van Salee (1609-c1680). Jan Jansen, a Dutch merchant, became a corsair in Algiers and Sallee (Morocco) before becoming Governor of Oualida, Morocco under Sultan al-Walid. His son Anthony emigrated to New Amsterdam, arriving with his wife Grietje Reyniers, in 1630.
