Dancing for the Stars comedian contestant,  BILL ENGVALL adds humor to his recounting of tearing his groin in practice with Emma, wrecking his knee, enduring knee replacement surgery, having a catheter taken out, trying to sneak out of the medical marijuana shop, his wife getting high thinking they were regular brownies etc. If you need a light moment in the midst of the pains of getting older, then this is the hour-plus relief you need to listen to.   Laughing releases endorphins--and...

Though much criticized, the Catholic view of Salvation from the Scriptures seems more reliable from the Bible than the Protestant view, which often fails to rely on Christ Himself said to Nicodemus.  We can believe Jesus or the manmade phrases men coined.   We can dismiss what Christ Himself said about the necessity to be born again of the "water and the spirit."   We can dismiss the water Jesus said was necessary and say, "It's only an "outward sign of an inward...

In this classic 2008 speech at the Parliament House in Victoria, Australia,  Gianna eloquently speaks truth in love in a manner compelling to all with dignity.  She tells the men they are made for greatness--to defend women and children. She tells the women that they are made to be treated with respect and with dignity.  She speaks without anger,  without resentment for...

GOD IS ATTRACTED TO WEAKNESS in the story of Polio Victim responsible for busing 5,000 children weekly to Sunday school for decades. Former Conservatory-trained church pianist Pearl Gibbs was told by her pastor that she was"through" when she asked him what she could do. But Pearl Gibbs, while strapped in her wheelchair boldly asked for the free use of buses to bus in children to church. For decades, 35 buses and 35 drivers were supplied freely to the church. The "Temporary Alien" cassette album was first released in about 1972 by a group of Jesus people musicians at Sacramento Revival Center.  They later re-recorded the album in a studio in Los Angeles but deleted the lyrical songs which beautifully depict heaven in the Book of Revelation. This first release is thus less commercial than the CD but is more transcendent in lyrical beauty and in the rich alto voice of Melinda. Ken Norberg went on to produce two fine albums of impeccable...

This is a 1910 piano arrangement of an Irish tune first published in 1797.  This delicate ragtime version was arranged by my great-grandfather Henry C. Graf, who published it by copyright in 1910 in his 8 page piano instruction book, "Ragtime Instruction Book." These are the lyrics to the traditional Irish version: "The Wearing of the Green" First Published in 1797 O Paddy dear, and did ye hear the news that's goin' round? ENCOURAGEMENT for anyone who has been hurt by what others thought or said about them. Joel Osteen's little sister April, is quite the encouraging preacheress!  Here she honors me by surprise in front of 1500 ladies on Chic Nite at the former High Point Church in Arlington, Texas. April Osteen Simons was my mentor in Texas and I also got to know Mama Osteen a bit too. As mature Christians, the Osteens do not advertise the giving I witnessed.  They have my respect.

Memorial Services for believer's at the Sacramento Revival Center in the 1950's-1980's were called, "Coronation Ceremonies."   Because the believer had presumably received their Crown of Life. This one was particularly glorious.  Dorothy Harden was the first teenager to grow up in the church in the 1940's.   And Dorothys' mother was the Morses' first convert. Nothing about this recording says, "funeral."  It even ends with many ex-hippies dancing in the aisles to the...

Ironically, she used as her defense in the trial against her, the same Nuremberg Principles which G.I. Bride Visa officials used against her to delay her coming to the U.S.  I her trial, she expressed that the guilt of Germany was enough to let her a lifetime.  She felt responsible as a U.S. citizen for the war crimes committed by her new country in...

This is a satirical ragtime blues song parody of selfish prayer composed by Patricia Jean Nash in about 1985.  She is playing guitar as well as singing and recorded it on an analog 4-track cassette recorder. It was first performed at the Sacramento Revival Center in about 1987 as part of a min-musical called, “ONCE UPON A PEW,” which feature about 12 actors/actresses/singers and three technicians plus a one person musical accompaniment. This is a satirical ragtime blues song composed by Patricia Jean Nash in about 1990.  She is playing guitar as well as singing and recorded it on an analog 4-track cassette recorder. Though it is a satirical commentary on selfish prayer, it was written in good faith that we must be grieving the heart of God if we use Him as a bellboy.  If the only time we come to Him is to say "Gimme, Gimme" or "Helpme Helpme"an then only to go back to ignoring fellowship with Him. The "Intelligentsia of Orange County" invited as a "specimen of Ignorance" the famed Jesus Person Pastor, Chuck Smith to represent the foolishness of Christianity compared to their Ph.D. educations. Remarkable testimony of Bishop Fulton Sheen's Forty Straight Nights he visited a hateful dying "evil man" in a hospital who had cancer of the face. In the end, he slowly earned the right to speak into the soul of William.  Protestants will be blessed to realize that calling on the Name of Jesus is what the Bishop begged the man to do. This was edited from a teaching by the Bishop and the background track by Hillsong was added. Darlene Zschech sings,  "Call upon the Name of the...

Teenager Geia Hayes sings AMAZING grace solo verse circa 1985 at the Sacramento Revival Center Christian School. Her solo is preceded by the first the first verse, sung with classmate Kathy Nash singing high harmony.  School Supervisor Marguerite Osbourne is likely playing piano accompaniment.  This was recorded at a church service and was edited for brevity. The Sacramento Revival Center Christian School was part of the Accelerated Christian Education Program i.e. ACE.

This is a VERY rough demo I plan to replace this year with a quality recording by Christmas of 2016. This is my first Christian Song written the week of my Salvation experience in 1970 or 1971.  I remember having my father hold me until I was 9 or so and then as I grew older so he never held me or hugged me after that.   I was also afraid of dying. After my simultaneous salvation & Baptism in the Holy Ghost experience, I felt the presence of God inside me all the time.  I was not lonely...

This wonderful LP by famed Trappist Monk & Author, Thomas Merton was (according to my research) lamented because it wasn't available as a CD or in mp3 form.  I paid a considerable sum to have one of the best media conversion houses in California eliminate pops on the LP. These are all eleven tracks on SIDE ONE.  SIDE  TWO are all Marian chants & hymns--some of which I sang in Catholic school and maybe someday I will spend a few hours to download them here. You may note that 10 of the...

The second song on SIDE A of this acclaimed LP. Gregorian Chants are mostly scripture passages in Latin. Thomas Merton translates Latin to English as his fellow Trappist monks sing Gregorian Chants. This LP is a highly prized item and many lamented that apparently a CD version didn't exist. At considerable expense, I sent the LP to a professional media formatter because I wanted all to enjoy it. Most of the chants are the parables of Jesus, Scripture Passages etc. #2 is Lutum fecit is "The...
