Good Joke---but it can (and did) cut both ways.
However,one should know that it is from the 1940 film The Ghost Breakers, that the other voice you hear is that of Richard Carlson. Oh, and that when the film's director, George Marshall, and Bob Hope did the radio version for the Screen Director's Playhouse, which is available through the archive---just type "Screen Director's Playhouse into the Archive's search engine and select "The Ghost Breakers"---the punchline is aimed at the Republicans.
It was a different time, friends, when most Americans were willing to laugh at themselves and not just at others. And, let's admit it, it's a good joke EITHER way
