Vermont Governor Phil Scott outlined his $6.1 billion budget proposal in Montpelier. The Republican governor called for consensus and compromise among lawmakers and voiced his concerns about the declining workforce in the state. He outlined his main budget priorities which included funding for school safety, combating the opioid epidemic, cybersecurity, internet connectivity and clean water projects.
