THE WRITING IS ON THE WALL
We have all heard the saying, “the Writing is on the Wall”. It means there is clear evidence that something bad is going to happen. We might use it when someone is going to lose their job and everybody sees it coming. The phrase originated on the night that the Babylonian Empire, started by Nebuchadnezzar, fell to the Cyrus the Great, king of the Persians. This story is found in Daniel Chapter 5. In it we learn how a once great nation fell. The fall of Babylon shows how nations today might fall, or how we as individuals might fall. Listen to our latest sermon to consider how to tell when the Writing is on the Wall.
