representative to them american people. >> he says blame should lie with one person. >> he is a bit player here. was he informed of the attack on the consulate? 40 people to go through was he aware of the august 15th table where they had a coordinated al qaeda attack militia groups all over benghazi. i blame the president it's a death trap. i blame the president for not having assets available to help pe these people for 8 hours. we blame them for having failures how can the department of defense not help these people for over 8 hours. how can the department of state ignore pleas for help. >> can susan rice -- >> despite heavy resistance they are pressing for rice to testify on benghazi.

the cleanup process continues. whi while oo. >> to rebuild them you have to demo and start over again. they are too far gone. >> the piles of debris and muddy streets are not the mange challenge here. the ocean breeze section of staten lined south shore it's the mold setting in. it's a race against time for homeowners trying to save their houses from even further damage. >> you have to get it all eradicated before you close-up the house otherwise it will just come back. >> those clearing out the soggy debris are the lucky ones they issued permits by the department of buildings that allowed to clean up the repairs. houses are the red tags are targeted for demolition. the building department says at least 200 are so dangerous they must be bulldozed. they are struggling with how to reach and notify owners who are living with family and friends. not everyone is pleased with the inspection process. >> the people doing the inspection they have to come
around and really look at the houses. we have no struck stur damage. called the building department to come back down and see if they will come and evaluate the structure. >> the national guard supports the volunteers living in the rockaways. they are important in staten island, too, where many tell us they can only rely on themselves than those living on hand. they were swept off the foundation into the street and scheduled for demolition. no one argued that but it doesn't make it niezyer. >> they have to rip it apart ta take it apart. all of the stuff is inside i can't get it out. i am stuck. >> the city department of buildings tells us they have a better idea how many homes need to be demolished on staten island and brooklyn and queens later this week. they are still trying to assess the damage and also reach out to displace the honimeowners. >> a lot of cleanup definitely remains for sure. the time now 24 after the top of
>> welcome back to "fox & friends" first. i am heather childers. >> i am patti ann browne. it is 29 minutes after the hour. the crisis in the middle east now in the 6th day. >> israeli troops and tanks bolt as talk of a cease fire continues. southern israel at school that was just hit less than an hour ago. leland? good morning here from southern israel where there is still more than a million civilians in the line of fire. in fact it is completely changed daily life here. school closed and many workplaces are closed for just this reason we are out of here a large high school that has 1500 students. you can see the damage these rockettes caused. came through this roof here a
concrete steel reinforced roof to a place where most kids gather for drinking fountains to eat their lunch that kind of thing. this is where it impacted. you can just image how many people might have been killed if students had been here. the conflict continues inside the gaza strip there was the air strikes that will continue by the israeli forces. they have hit some 1300 targets inside the gaza strips. there have been a number of palestinians killed so far in last night. there were a number of palestinians killed in the gaza strip. that caused condemnation in israel as they continue the process of trying to take out some of the hamas militants and rockettes fly. more than a thousand rockettes flew many accepted by the iron dome. this shows not all of them intercepted. where we are right now you have
about 20 seconds from the time the vines go off to the time that there is an interception or things land here. right now we are hearing booms over head. those are most likely interceptions of flying out of gaza to other cities. currently on the border with gaza right now is some 30,000 reservists who have been called up a n israeli tanks armored personnel carriers and infantry soldiers waiting for the go for a ground defensive we are told could come anywhere in the next 24-48-hours. that would be a major first time gaza troops headed to gaza in four years. peace talks are ongoing inside cairo right now. we are told there is an israeli envoy from the table somebody from hamas and islamic jihad too early to tell whether everyone will let things calm down people can go back to work school or if we are going to have a ground war things like this could go on
