tv The Ingraham Angle FOX News October 15, 2019 7:00pm-8:00pm PDT
getting mixed reports that the trump either investigation may be outs early next week. let not your heart be troubled. laura ingraham is next. have a great night. thank you for being with us. to be when i'm laura ingraham, this is the "ingraham angle" from another busy washington tonight. he'll respond to hunter biden's softball abc interview. he's not going to hold back. he promises. on their first day back from break, the house g.o.p. ready to fight back against a sham of an impeachment probe -- it's about time. they are going to target adam schiff. congressman adam nunez, steve scalise all here and they will reveal their plan. don't miss it. one mother fights for her daughter's right to compete against other girls in track and field. a warning about what the left pushes for trans athletes will do to women's and girls exports.
and i will have my list response to lebron james potter's comments on china latee show. unmasked and unanswered, that's the focus of tonight angle. well, joe biden has spent weeks deflecting the flood of questions about his son's shady business deals in ukraine and china. >> i never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever had a conversation with my son about anything i was doing. there is zero, zero, zero evidence. >> laura: nothing, nothing, nothing to see here! that should be biden's new campaign slogan, i've decided. of course is bill of lading denials are enough to satisfy and in curiously uninterested lame stream media. >> it basically stitches together the entire right wing conspiracy theory.
>> this whole ukraine conspiracy theory with joe biden and his son -- >> smart of him to be dismissing this because there is factual evidence to back up the conspiracy theory. >> laura: after months of hiding out, hunter biden showed his face for a media interview with an amicable interviewer. it at times but more like an episode of "oprah." >> if your last name wasn't biden, do you think he would've been asked to be on the board of burisma? >> i don't know. probably not. >> laura: almost burst into laughter throughout this entire interview. >> i was on the board of amtrak for 4-5 years. i was chairman of the board of a u.n. world food program. i was a lawyer for one of the most prestigious law firms in the world. >> you didn't have any extensive knowledge about natural gas or ukraine itself though? >> no, but i think i had as much
knowledge as anybody else on the board. if not more. >> laura: another laugh out loud moment! i'm glad she had the follow-up. that was good. his relevant experience is that he worked for a big law firm. so did i. but i don't have any experience in the ukraine. or he sat on the amtrak board -- i wonder how we got that position. unbelievable. did that hit the right market? >> the president has repeatedly said you received $1.5 billion from china despite no experience and for no apparent reason. obviously fact-checkers have said that that is not true -- >> this literally has no basis in fact in any way -- >> have you received any money for nonbusiness dealings? >> not 1 cent. >> deftly not $1.5 billion? >> laura: notice how she's always throwing a lifeline to hunter? no one believes hunter himself personally got $1.5 billion from china. reporting shows he did secure
that amount for another investment firm of which he owns a nice chunk. and that's how much "ingraham angle" reportedly raised for the company , biden reportedly raised for the company, hunter sat on that board since 2013. so he didn't know that fact or chose to omit any reference to it. the question should have been after ten days after you and your dad returned from a trip in china in late 2013, your firm secured that exact amount in financing from china's estate owned bank? and if diamonds are a girls best friend, hunter biden seems to like them plenty too. a chinese businessman gave hunter a huge diamonds ones and asked them to represent someone later convicted in a bribery scheme. biden negotiated for a gas company involved in that very same scheme. but abc did not ask about the precious stone payment either.
why bother? everybody is supposed to be satisfied with any acting dismissals about questions about ethics. >> did i make a mistake? in the grand scheme of things, yeah. did i make a mistake based on some unethical laps? absolutely not. >> laura: absolutely not. by the way, hunter does plan to step down from b hr is bored. though -- this is a big though, he does not the one probing question -- well, it's not programming but told as something. it isn't getting enough attention. >> did you and your father ever discussed ukraine? >> no. the only time was after a news accounts -- there is no but to this. >> laura: that's convincing. it's like he forgot his dad repeatedly denied talking
business with hunter at all. and he remembered midsentence and went on the sick, no, we never took it. if joe and hunter actually time to this interview to drop it for tonight's democrat debate, that was another colossal lapse in judgment. which sent the campaign surrogates scrambling to explain. >> do you wish he didn't do it this morning or did it tomorrow or the next day? >> martha -- it was a little hard to hear you, but hunter biden said today and answered every single question. >> laura: now that is funny. joe biden knows full and well that his son's dealing stink to high heaven. at the very least have a stark conflict of interest. when he was sitting as vice president and involved running ukraine policy. now his campaign team is a warning that democrat rivals don't even think about going back to the u.k. story.
the problem is this is rampant corruption. what qualifies you to sit on the board of ukrainian gas company, you have no knowledge, you don't speak the language, all the things he went through. i was on the board of amtrak. what qualifies you -- the next obvious question, what qualified you to sit on the board of amtrak? i went to georgetown university. i took amtrak every single weekend for a four week period of time. that does not qualify me to sit on the board of amtrak. the obvious answer is because his father was vice president and he was cashing in on that no different than he was cashing in on the ukraine, no different from he was cashing in on china and the whole lot of other things. rampant corruption, it sucks and it shouldn't have been and it's disgusting and quite frankly it's disqualifying. >> laura: this is why her father was elected. people see what this town is all about. it's a never ending series of fund-raisers from this or that organization that wants its
piece of the pie. that's it. the idea that in an interview, you kind of let them get away with saying, well, i worked at a big law firm -- you have to just burst out laughing. as someone who worked at a big law firm, i'm not qualified to work on an investment fund or raise a billion and a half dollars from china to be deposited in that fund. i want to be qualified to do that for that's not what i'm qualified to do. >> not only did they let him get away with that, but what about the trump kids? somebody when in the hotel ten years ago when they bought a martini at the bar when the when you were they were, that's got to be in the normans. you have elijah cummings who sends us opinions about how many martinis -- it's insanity. >> laura: this is how he characterized you in the abc sit down.
>> the most unethical group of people we've seen in this republic. >> may be "lock her up" goes to lock him up! >> who cares that barnum & bailey say anything, do anything you want? you know, donald prince humperdinck trump jr. is someone i don't really care about. >> laura: the video was of you but that's besides the point. >> he's not
doing well there. we have a lot of supporters in minneapolis so that's pretty good. the difference between us and hunter is when my father became commander in this country, he that's the difference. i don't think there will ever be, laura, a president who sacrificed so much of his wealth, made so many personal sacrifices. my father got into politics to
drain the swamp, to stop this nonsense from happening, exactly what you see here because it's rampant. he made so many sacrifices including putting a ton of his own money in it and losing an absolute fortune because of it. all these guys are cashing in on it. they are getting board positions, cashing in on their father. do you see me on any boards? qc ivanka on any boards? >> laura: you had to get rid of the st. jude foundation, that's how bad it's got, someone actually helped by the foundation work you did lost that help. >> one of the lowest excess ratios of any charity in the world, building icus. >> laura: that's the problems. there is a tactic and i want to expose this on the show. it's very important for people to understand how the democrats are trying to parlay this hunter biden saga into an attack on you and your brother, and to some
extent your sister. this was claire mccaskill -- of course, very well respected democrat senator . watch. >> the most drifting president in the history of our country, all of his kids grifters they all have the nerve to go after joe biden and his family. particularly joe, he needs to turn and go like a scalding cat against trump and the kids making all this money off of the presidency. >> laura: that his former senator mccaskill. >> do you know what's ironic? these people, her, nancy pelosi, biden -- biden has been in politics for 50 years. nancy in politics for 35 years but they made their entire livelihood off of politics but my father has never taken a penny from the u.s. government. he's done the exact opposite, he given a lot of taxes -- my sister works in the white house,
she doesn't take a salary. no one takes salaries. my father paid for hundreds of millions of dollars of his presidential run -- he has contributed so much. these people have lived off of our taxpayer money for years. it's the perfect reason, laura, we need term limits in this country, but joe biden has been a politician for 50 years! they are talking about us being there? the hypocrisy of this stuff -- -- feeling longer than you have >> laura: longer than you have been alive, eric. >> i'm a young guy but i'm not a spring chicken. >> laura: will get on this early in the show but pelosi made it official, they aren't doing an impeachment inquiry vote. >> the whole thing is a sham. we have the lowest jobless claims in the history of our nation. you see where the stock market is today? our country is doing phenomenally well.
what do they have to do? impeach, impeach, impeach, let's tell lies, let's make up storie stories. they know they can't beat this guy. this is like their hail mary with two seconds left in the fourth quarter. by the way, they are failing at it and i'm telling you, when you see that energy in minneapolis and you see these crowds and you see what we have going out there and the fund-raising numbers? laura, they aren't going to win. >> laura: well, they say your dad doesn't look like they want to be president longer. he's done for the sake of it, he's happy to be one term. that's the new thing. >> there's no one who knows my father better than i do, and that's not the case. this is nonsense and this nonsense will take down the country. he's going to win by the widest margin of any president in history and you watch this backfire on them, laura. >> laura: thanks for being with us. really appreciate it.
and the hunter biden saga is just the latest example of elites getting caught red-handed taking care of their own. and like the rest of his ilk, younger biden tried to talk away's actions with very confused explanations, joining me with the reaction is kim strassel, fox's contributor and member of "the wall street journal" editorial board and author of the great new book "resistance at all because down the cost ". what does it tell you that the media has no issue with hunter's myriad swampy arrangements? we signed up that interesting edit done in the interview that the "washington examiner" is talking about tonight right at that critical point where she asked him, what about your experience in the ukraine -- you can hear someone off camera apparently saying, sorry, so that's being talked about tonight. that's conservative media. the rest of the media is just letting it go? >> it's a story of the past
three years, laura. why do we know a lot of the information that we know about hunter biden? it's because before this became an issue about biden, before they decided that they would make us entirely about donald trump and ukraine, they were the ones writing the stories about the bidens being problems with hunter biden and the enormous conflict of interest. you put up a screenshot earlier that quoted former vice president biden aides about how much of a war they have about how much he was writing on the vice president's coattails and getting access -- they knew all this. as with everything because they want this now the entirely be a message about donald trump, the change their tune and everything is a false allegation, nothing to see here, nothing was bad. they understood the conflict and they are closing their eyes to it. >> laura: victor, the deputy
campaign manager for biden today saying this. >> biden helped run one of the most ethical white houses that we've seen, eight years in the obama-biden white house without a hint of scandal so we know what kind of leader he'll be. >> laura: unchallenged over at the other network. >> the irony of it, biden himself in the clip of the council of foreign relations brought the whole thing back up when he bragged about using his influence. and then a missile when they went after trump and ukraine and the media covered it up. not only did hunter biden at $85,000 a month -- why not ten, 15? was at the going rate for board members? >> laura: there was a flash of anger. i want to play the flash of
anger which gets to some of thi this. >> in and out of rehab 15 times -- >> sought treatment for an issue. >> sought treatment for substance abuse issues. i think this is a human question -- -- >> for real -- >> do you wary that all of this noise, it could affect your sobriety? >> of course! >> laura: is very insensitive. >> holly holly ward people have been fighting about whether they should blow up donald trump hea. when you juxtapose the nba, lebron, that cowardice towards china, the epstein/weinstein matter, the hunter biden, college admissions, you start to get a picture of this, this whole elite culture, progressive culture is corrupt and trump's problem is that he's not like
george w. bush or john mccain or mitt romney that focuses on politics. for him, it's a few hundred 60-degree war on the hollywood entertainment, academia foundate use of quid pro quo swamped creature type culture and it's a 24/7 war for him. they've never seen anything like it. he's questioning the fundamentals of this entire elite evidence. >> laura: we were talking before about what happened tonight when suddenly it's inadvertent jiu-jitsu, but now all the democrats except for tulsi gabbard are basically are for more war in the middle east after years of trashing bush and cheney with the movies and the books and all the trashing of bush and cheney and the iraq war and afghanistan but because they have to attack trump, they go after him -- he caused syria, i love that. he because the fighting in syria that's been going on for how
many years? this is what he's done to the democrat party and the masks are off. i really think the masks are off whether it's lebron james and the nba and these other elites over the democrat party. >> look, this is why you don't see the medial moving on impeachment. americans look at democrats and if not that they've been going at them three years. it's the next thing and we believe the next one really matters, but it's also the double standard and i keep pointing this out. how can you look at americans and the same it was okay that hillary clinton's campaign funneled this information to the fbi from russia, which was used as part of surveillance warrants of this investigation -- that was all good. in fact, that was just saving our country and turn around and say what donald trump did somehow rises to the level of an impeachable offense. it just doesn't pass the meter for most americans.
i think that's what you are pointing out here is that you can't just switch your position based on whether or not it's good for you or not. and that is what we see happening on nearly a daily basis because people want to oppose trump. >> laura: real quick, victor. back to the syria thing. suddenly the people who don't care about enforcing our southern border are okay with people including criminals coming across the border are now saying, oh, but these criminals are escaping from syrian prisons tonight. >> the only logic is what they are for they are against. very quickly, they told us that trump is weakening nato, now they want to put more troops into syria, american troops between syria and the turks and we may have to attack a turkish ally that's a member of nato, that's the first time -- >> laura: they are twisted up with their hatred of trump and their own internal struggle was visible. tonight, he continues to be visible. victor and kim, thank you so much. hours ago, nancy pelosi and adam
>> we are not ready to have a vote yet. why not call the administration's bluff -- >> we aren't here to call blobs. we are here to find the truth. this is not a game for us. this is deadly serious. >> laura: apparently not serious enough for nancy pelosi to actually bring it to a formal impeachment vote. not to the house floor. not happening. the house speaker telling reporters that democrats would continue these -- well, we are saying the sham impeachment
probes against president trump. but house republicans are readying plans to fight back to join me now, congressman steve police, house minority whip. congress been devin nunes, ranking member, all of your grades to see you tonight. congressman unions, what does this to tell us tonight about the state of things. >> she still has the problem she does not have the power unless she and peaches but what she's trying to do is to short-circuit the process. i don't think she'll have the formal process and they may just submit a report and go to a straight floor vote on an impeachment. >> laura: congress means alden, there is thought that maybe this is in the big silver bullet that they thought it was against president trump. a certain goal notwithstanding, doesn't seem like the needle has moved on this impeachment thing. i think what you saw tonight
with that democrat debates -- my god, this is a war on capitalism, the free market, religious liberty. and apparently general principles of due process. this is a sham behind closed doors, it's becoming more and more obvious. i think they are freaking out about this. i did not think they are cool is humorous at all. >> they are wrong wrong in the process, wrong on the substance. a lot of people pushing this, they wanted to impeach with the president's hand on the bible in office. the minority party should have subpoena powers, they should be able to cross-examine witnesses, present witnesses. house republicans when they impeach bill clinton in the apostle he 90s. same thing with the nixon impeachment. by the way, we are calling for total transparency. all sunlight, as much as possible. we think the american public should be able to watch this live because of the importance of it on the substance.
ambassador voelker, the first deposition, the only one we are allowed to talk about -- he blew up at this quid pro quo charge but it's a fairy tale that adam schiff has been making -- >> laura: there are other people testifying since and the democrats seems to be banking on that. >> i've been at all the depositions, the entire tea. i can't talk about the depositions that happened after it -- >> laura: someone is talking. this stuff is coming out. >> the republicans have not been the sources of any of those leaks. i will tell you what i knew going into it and what i saw during ambassador volker's testimony. zelensky had no idea there was a hold on ada. >> laura: there's nothing about it to the aid isn't connected to -- the missiles connected to the package they wanted more of. they paid for this but nothing being given to ukraine -- >> no quid pro quo. >> laura: i've got to get to congressman scalise because
schiff is standing by the entire process, aboveboard, what the american people need. watch. >> republicans are completely represented. all of the members of these three committees have been invited to attend and participate and ask questions, notwithstanding i think some of the representations are to the contrary, there was full participation by the g.o.p. in each one of these interviews and depositions and there will be in the open hearings. >> laura: how many witnesses have y'all been able to call? >> dino who is not invited to these meetings by schiff? the american people. think about it. they are trying to remove a president of the united states. donald trump was duly elected in 2016. they don't agree with the election, they are trying to overturn the election. we got in the election next year but and the adam schiff and nancy pelosi are trying to take that away from the american people. what is adam schiff trying to
hide? why is he having this meandering run? they thought the mueller investigation was going to be the silver bullet. they thought the whistle-blower was going to be the silver bullet. >> laura: do you notice how this stuff comes up? well, bolton says that rudy says this and that, he is running renegade and he's wrecking everything. but it's all these technical little leaks, and what are you guys to do, the leaks, you complain about the process? >> i think what they are doing, it's the same thing why your viewers are so frustrated as they watch this. every day is groundhog day. a new leak, and your narrative, a new story. what's ultimately going to happen to them is that the stories are not enough. we can't talk about everything that went on in these depositions but i can tell you that their star witnesses, the testimony conflicts -- just within the star witnesses. you can see they don't want to bring the whistle-blower. the whistle-blower is not going to come forward.
they aren't going to bring the whistle-blower at all. it's going to be deadly -- they are keeping the whistle-blower wherever they are keeping jerry nadler. every impeachment goes the judiciary committee, you can't find jerry nadler because pelosi is trying to hide him from the whole thing. >> laura: here's what i'm going to say -- again, it dovetails into what we were saying about hunter biden. they are turning the hundred biden saga, gets all this money with no expertise in ukraine -- what about the trump kids? it's lame, doesn't work. they are trying to do the same thing, congressman zeldin, complaining about this transparency thing saying, you are all just stonewalling -- this is a new narrative of the day, from a book in the stonewall, #stonewall. you are afraid to see this come into fruition because you are afraid donald trump will be impeached, but facts are the facts. that's their argument. >> you don't have to cherry pick leaks.
he's also holding key facts and outright lies. this entire thing started -- adam schiff and his team were in contact with the whistle-blower before there was a whistle-blower complaint. before he had a whistle-blower attorney, he goes on national television and says we have not been in touch with the whistle-blower but would like to be. he said president trump called him president zelensky to "manufacture dirt on the bidens," that was a lie. the acting director of national intelligence gave an opening statement, a precious look on devin nunes' face, is he really saying that? >> laura: and the censure tomorrow, are you going through that on adam schiff? >> we ought to bring that up. this is andy biggs' resolution, i may cosponsor. >> laura: what is a censure? >> more democrats on record because they are trying to play both sides of his impeachment thinking back home they are saying, we aren't really for impeachment come up here they are pushing for impeachment and that's why pelosi refuses to have a vote on the house floor. all three times or have been
impeachment inquiries before, they want to vote on the house -- the one they don't care about that. it's about getting trump. as far as i see it, aoc is as close to a thought leader in today's democrat party. what she thinks now will be the position maybe not today but to go weeks or one month or two months. is that accurate? >> not only accurate, but when you saw on stage and the democratic debate, as you said there are people who are totally against capitalism, they are going to take out all businesses, and that's what really aoc, her new green deal, that's what it's all about. don't forget, bernie sanders and others were cosponsors of the green new deal. >> laura: that's the thought leader. again, trump is taking the mass off a lot of people and a lot of people are being revealed. that's healthy. we know where everybody stands. >> they are ripping the country in half to appease a radical. >> laura: it's about winning at all costs.
>> the president cut a new deal with china. >> laura: getting into that later this week. congressman, great to speak to you. after the break, are the neoconservatives seeking revenge against trump? we mentioned this. senator rand paul on that. plus my message to lebron james. oh, boy. stay there. not even our competitor's best battery
>> laura: according according o "the daily beast" today, president trump suspect former national security advisor john bolton leaking information to the media out of spite. bolton for his joining me now, rand paul, republican senator from kentucky and author of the fantastic go out and get it new book, "the case against socialism." high school kids, college kids, adults who tie toyed with the socialism idea. you have long opposed this perpetual interventionist policy in the middle east long before yours truly woke up and smelled the coffee. what do you think about john bolton and the ideas this president half that he's behind the leaks? >> it didn't take him too long. he was asked to leave the life white house. up days he was staying with
why the president -- why we needed to be in syria forever ad to fix up afghanistan after 19 years by staying there another 19 years. john bolton might have his own agenda and probably he defines the leaks different from you and i do. it wouldn't surprise me that he's part of this. >> laura: as of today, president trump seemed to walk back his syria withdrawal plan ever so slightly, saying -- as united states forces have defeated isis's physical caliphate, troops will now redeploy and remain in the region to monitor the situation. a small footprint of u.s. forces will remain in southern syria to continue to disrupt remnants of isis. what is this? is this the military-industrial complex saying no, you want, or is it prudent what's happening
empowering iran? >> i think the president gets the u.s. people. when you ask better and say the iraq war it disabled the middle east, embolden biden. the present gets more than anyone i've met in elected office, bitterly the presidency. he gets it he gets that the american people would rather be defending the southern border of the united states than defending a border between syria and turkey. i think that's absolutely true. >> laura: lindsey graham was with them for a few hours and after that everything seemed to change. lindsey, speaking of him, he was attacking you kind of tonight about your position on syria. watch. >> senator paul is an avowed libertarian. i respect his point of view. but i think it's dangerous. if we abandon the kurds, who is going to help us in the future? in another front against israel,
israel is worried about biden coming into syria and getting the oil fields and being more powerful. >> lindsay has been wrong about every foreign policy decision since he's been up here. let's say the iraq war. the iraq war led to less stability, led to a stronger iran. how about libya? he wanted to talk to qaddafi in libya. what did that lead to? it's a really messy war. lindsey wants to war, he should come to congress and have a vote -- but who have we declared war on? turkey? the free syrian army which used to be our allies? assad? is he going to explain to the mother and father of these kids why they went to syria, why they have blown up? >> laura: the democrats are now the war party. they've twisted themselves and
are now completely contradicting themselves what they been saying for a long time, and believable. the to "the case against socialism," it's a must read. great, great book. congratulations on writing it. go out and get it, everyone. after a week of silence, and ba's biggest james finally broke his islands over the fewer over the houston rockets darrell morey's tweet. silence would be preferable to this. >> i believe he wasn't educated on the situation at hand and he spoke -- so many people could have been harmed not only financially but physically, emotionally, spiritually. >> laura: for the record, the uneducated morey is considered one of the smartest man in the league. a computer science degree from northwestern university and an mba from that little-known
institution mit. morey clearly knows more than lebron about china's human rights abuses. we get it. lebron has many lucrative reasons to play ball with china. for starters, he signed a $1 billion lifetime nike endorsement, which heavily depends on selling gear continue chinese markets in the lot of nikes' merchandise over the years have been made by labor in china. but at least the nba players make a lot of money. and the space jam remake lebron stars in? that's going to debut in 2021. do not want to upset the apple cart with this revision deals on the line. but just say that instead of overwrought lectures about how brave you are. >> i get an opportunity to be the inspiration what all these kids are looking up to and for me to just sit back and not say
[bleep] -- not giving a [bleep] about backlash, it's not about me. >> laura: even if it means -- well, looking the other way or attacking basically someone in your own league. we'll have a lot more to get to on this. but joining us now, john daniel davidson, political editor for the federalist. lebron has been lionized by the prospers of political activism. but suddenly after all this tough talk, trump this, trump that can he fall silent in the face of chinese human rights abuses and this guy who even mentions hong kong is uneducated. what gives? >> the best thing you can say about this situation, the best place to put on it is lebron is just ignorant or stupid, or both about china.
but more realistically, he knows exactly what's going on and he knows that this is about money. we all know it's about money. as you just laid out there, lebron has made a big deal about speaking out about domestic political issues, speaking out about trump -- it didn't cost them anything to speak out about trump. >> laura: he was lionized! he's celebrated. you are celebrated in hollywood or the sports world for the most part if you don't go to the white house, i'm not going to go -- big deal! but when big money is on the line, suddenly -- no, you can criticize china -- they have a million people in internment camps. does he even know about that? is he aware about what they've done to women who have more than one child? they have ripped children out of the wombs of women in china. that's what they've done to their own people, let alone the christians and dissidents who art in reeducation camps. that's fine -- just say i'm doing it for the money and be
honest about it. >> exactly. and the gall of saying that -- it's literally while pro-democracy protesters in hong kong were running from riot police, being beaten and chased in the streets of hong kong while he was saying this, it's appalling. and i think most people in america are deeply turned off by this. may be the nba fans in america should send a message to lebron and the rest of the league that, you know, they owe something to american principles and ideals -- be won by the way, i've got to say this though. >> laura: by the way, i've got to say this though. you can clarify what he did to morey, that was so obvious what was going on there. his initial comments. but he did come back to the cameras today. watch. >> this situation we are all in right now as an association of its athletes, owners, multiple things that we haven't talked
about that happen in our own country that we don't bring up. we have a lot of knowledge about it, we don't quite understand it -- i do not think you should talk about it. >> laura: what about that? >> he's talking out of both sides of his mouth. look, we shouldn't be listening to lebron james talk about politics, whether it's politics at home or politics in china. but if he is going to talk about politics, you think he would at least speak up on behalf of human rights and democracy where it really counts and forget about the bottom line for once. >> laura: no, no. billions and billions of dollars -- it's just one business that sold out the principles of what we believe in for the bottom line. the nba is just the latest of many, many. again, the masks are off. we know what everyone really things so don't tell us you are this incredible social justice warrior when an american gm can send an innocuous tweet without getting knocked back on his heels by the nba.
>> before i get to the track, i already know i'm not going to get first place or maybe even second place and it's really hard knowing that because i know that no matter how hard i worked, i won't be able to have the top spot. >> laura: that was alana smith, a rising high school track and field star. her dreams of being a college athlete are being shattered because two teenage boys were identified as girls are allowed to compete against her. it's a question at a heart of a new complaint at the u.s. heart
the concerned mother of the female athlete you just heard and she joins me now along with her attorney chris young a whole come from the alliance defending freedom which is a fantastic organization. why do you feel it's so important for your daughter with all the politics floating around that she compete with only biological females? >> girls deserve the right to compete on a level playing field, and forcing female athletes to compete against biological males is in fair and it destroys their athletic opportunities. >> laura: this is not a political issue, right? this is about your daughter working her tail off and i played quite a few sports in high school, some in college, it's a lot of work. boys are built differently and all the studies are showing that
christiana, it turns out if someone take hormones you are still stronger, faster, biologically bigger, internal organs, lung capacity -- all given an edge to the biological mail regardless of hormonal treatment. christiana, as the lawyer here, what's the case you may? >> girls deserve to compete on a and to ensure that girls have equal athletic opportunities with boys. but when you allow males to come in and dominate women sports, that destroys these girls' athletic opportunities, not opportunities but potential of their future athletic careers as well. alliance defending freedom has filed a title ix complaint on behalf of cheryl daughter alana as well as two other female athletes in competitive
>> the aclu has responded saying the following. attacking two black young women who are simply per dissipating in the sport they love because they are transgender is wrong. it's dangerous and distorts title ix which is a law that protects all students on the basis of sex. are you all trying to discriminate against people on the basis of sex or do you want a sense of fairness on the playing field, or in this sense the track? >> this is about fairness to women's sports. my daughter trains countless hours to shave mere fractions of a second offer race time but when she positions herself at the starting line, she knows the odds are against her and fairness doesn't exist. >> laura: what's your mind-set equipment is it tough for her -- i remember being a high school athlete. i miss it.
i miss those fall afternoons on the hockey field or springs on the softball diamond. it must be tough for your daughter given the politically correct push on this particular issue. how is she doing? >> she continues to train hard and she is motivated to do her best. but at the end of the day, fairness doesn't exist. and she knows the odds are against her. >> laura: this is insanity. if this is where feminism takes us, gender politics takes us, i mean, it's not atomism, it's gender politics, all feminists across the country should think about it again. this will destroy girl's sports eventually. thank you ladies for being here tonight. stay tuned. we have final thoughts on this wild night and the last bite next.
