Hillsborough County Celebrated the opening of the expanded and renovated Jackson Springs Community Center on Monday, Nov. 21. The new and improved facility offers residents a first-class complex for a variety of recreational activities.
he year-long, $2.2 million project included renovation of an existing gym and skate shop, and construction of a new, 5,772-square-foot building that houses a weight room, wood-floor dance classroom with mirrored walls, community meeting space, and administrative offices. The work included repainting the gym, installing remote-controlled basketball backboards, and improving the air conditioning system, restrooms, sidewalks, and drainage system.
The Jackson Springs Community Center, 8620 Jackson Springs Road, offers activities ranging from after-school programs for kids to weightlifting, basketball, pickleball, volleyball, a wide range of dance classes, mah jong, guitar lessons, and more. The complex includes a skate park, soccer field, playground, wireless internet connection, and meeting rooms for the public.
