seeming to glorify the columbine shooters and other mass shootings is concerning some parents. it really has. multiple people have shown us a linked account on youtube and a gaming site called steam. they say that profile belongs to the jefferson student. police are checking things out and haven't confirmed anything yet. but, the content we're about to show you might be unsettling to some. jefferson, this video was published on youtube. it's two minutes of students walking through the crowded halls of that high school. totally innocuous by itself, but when you see what else the user uploaded things get scary. nat game you're looking at video game simulations of actual school shootings and mass murders. the profile picture, an image of the virginia tech shooter, cho seung-hui on the connected steam account, the user appears to
one of them at a school. all of this stuff online has some jefferson parents worried a mass shooting was being planned, perhaps involving multiple shooters who still want to carry it out. "i'm very worried. i'm worried to the point that i'm about to pull my son out of this school until we know that our children are safe." monday afternoon, police released a statement to ease the community's concerns. they said, after talking with students and monitoring social media, authorities don't believe anyone else was involved in friday's incident. they sy evidence of a credible threat against the school, staff or students. additional officers were at the school monday to reassure people. nat game though fletcher wishes she'd heard something sooner, she said the info from authorities has her feeling a little safer. anyone with additional information is still being asked to contact authorities. you can reach them at this number on your screen: 319-286-5400.

pass an ordinance of their own? "it doesn't go into effect until january so communities have until then to decide what to do with their minimum wage" some communities are beginning to start those discussions. central city's council will put a minimum wage discussion on the agenda next week and the city council in ely is talking about it tonight. but no community, large or small, has taken a stand on the issue yet. a new poll just out today gives republican trump a slight lead over democrat hillary clinton. simpson college and raba research released their first ever poll together today. raba stands for red america, blue america. trump gathered 43 percent support among iowans while clinton gets 42 percent. but the margin of error is three percent. so it's a statistical tie. meteorologist joe winters joins us now with our first alert forecast. joe, after a beautiful day,

underground infrastructure and giving the street an updated, fresh look. all of the businesses along washington street have been open throughout this project. the washington streetscape project is expected to be completed later this fall. johnson county is getting closer to tripling its production of clean energy. workers have already installed an array of solar panels on the roof of the county's health and human services building. and now they're working to get a set of solar panels up next to the county administration building. the county's sustainability coordi displays will produce more than 300-thousand kilowatt hours of electricity each year. a waterloo blood drive to honor the victims of 9/11 exceeded organizers' expectations today. the waterloo fire and rescue sponsored the blood drive at their headquarters from noon to six. american red cross had 50 people scheduled to donate. but by two o'clock, there had already been 25 walk- ins who were eager to give. mike

" the chief himself was scheduled to donate blood, along with his wife and son. after the drive, blood will be tested and then sent to hospitals both nationally and locally. college and n-f-l games are in full swing right no iowa are getting involved in some sort of fantasy football league. but right now betting money in this type of league is illegal in iowa. kcrg-tv9's phil reed joins us in the studio. phil, some iowa legislators are trying to change this? a bill will be introduced in january when the legislature returns to session. it will make fantasy sports betting legal. we're talking about websites such as draftkings and fan duel where you select a team of players from across the league and place
else's team. it's similar to a bill that passed in the senate last session, but failed in the house. but state senator jeff danielson says this time around, you would have to be 21 to play. and the racing and gaming department will regulate it. sports betting sites would have to pay a fee to operate in iowa under state law, your winnings would be taxed if its more than 1200 dollars. but danielson claims it's not about the money. i think it's an idea whose time has come. we should've done it yesterday. we are one of only six states in the country that sports" if it passes this time around, it would go into effect next july. tonight at 10, hear opinions on the proposal from local sports fans. a coralville parrot put one man through a lot of pain and heartache when she flew away. but thanks to some kind neighbors, sunnybird is now safe and sound. stay with

"eventually sunny bird flew into the house at the address where the officer got her, and she closed the garage door so that sunny bird couldn't get away. " sunnybird did suffer injure her leg in the ordeal, but she should recover fully. as we start having some cooler, fall-like days, some people are getting in the mood to buy m but after a wet summer, farmers are having trouble keeping their pumpkins dry. they faced the same problem last year after heavy rain. about half of the pumpkin crop in buffalo, iowa was lost in the past few months. "we cut the stems on all the big pumpikns so that people can just go and pick them up and we have to set them up. this year we have to set them up straight because they have dirt on the bottom and consequently if they are not set up straight they will rot."
