morning. 49 degrees, warmer along the coast. pacifica, 49, same thing in san francisco. 42 degrees in san jose. your headlines for the day, we're going to have a partly cloudy morning with a chilly start and we'll be cool temperatures as far as temperatures are concerned. we have a spare-the-air alert so no wood burning. high temperatures tonight are chilly enough you might want one of those fires but don't do it. 64 in livermore. a little cooler along the coast, 57 degrees in pacifica, 58 in san francisco. north bay, you'll be in the low 60s. it is going to be a chilly day. you're going to need that sweater. liza? the traffic is looking nice with no major delays. this is 580 in the livermore area. westbound approaching first street, excellent drive as you leave the altamont pass area heading for the tri-valley. highway 4 looking good.
we didn't have any road work. westbound traffic moving well leaving antioch bound for the pittsburg area. i-80 as it rolls through the richmond area, no major delays approaching mcbride avenue. as i mentioned before, the bridge commutes, excellent. still no delays westbound for that bay bridge toll plaza. san mateo bridge also looking well. looking at mass transit, a nice start with no delays for any local trains, ferry boats oar or busses. we're learning more about the chp officer who was killed in a tragic christmas eve crash on an east bay freeway. investigators say the driver who hit his patrol car was drunk and high. ann makovec is live with more details. >> reporter: a couple of bouquets of flowers here outside of the chp office to memorialize this officer, a young father who has now passed away.
33-year-old officer andrew camilleri had only been with the chp for a year. he and his partner were parked in their suv parked on 880 when another driver rear-ended them around 11:30 on christmas eve. velasquez was treated at the hospital and released while the camilleri family got the tragic news. >> children that were expecting his father to come home and help open christmas presents
