look at your main travel times. starting out it's early, it's friday. it's almost a holiday weekend. let's take a look. your roads reflect that. you are all in the green no matter where you are. 21 minutes. that is not a problem at all. highway 4 to the maze is only about a 14-minute ride. both of those are still in the green. let's take a live look out to the golden gate bridge at this hour. it is empty but it is foggy. there's a fog advisory in effect via the golden gate bridge. now off to the bay bridge where there's nobody there. everybody else is good to go without a problem. and the san mateo bridge is crossing tlaesz plenty of room on those roadways. and there is a traic alert for this weekend.

because of ongoing work on train tracks, buses will be used to shuttle bart passengers between orinda and walnut creek. in addition there will be lane closures on eastbound highway 24 in lafayette near oak hill road. that will begin at 11:00 tonight and run through 7:00 tuesday morning. delays up to 30 minutes can be expected. bart says it is replacing track and electrical equipment. the free shuttle bus will be provided. later in our 6:00 half hour officials from bart and caltrans will join us live in the steward owe to answer questions. 4:30 right now as we take a live look at daytona beach, florida. cbs's laura poddesta reports people along the florida coast

york. >> we're there for them. we're feeding them. sheltering them. >> president trump cancelled his weekend trip to focus on dorian. oakland police are searching for suspects after ahooting that injured two men. neighbors say it happened about 2:30 yesterday afternoon at 61st and lowell streets. a business owner says he knew it was serious when he saw a teenage girl approaching his shop pail and shaken. >> and she just ran into our warehouse and she stopped crying. >> the conditions of the two men who were shot are unknown. in san jose the driver who struck and killed a bicycle is still on the run this morning. initiated by a chevy suburban

that hit another suv. that chevy continued through an intersection and hit a man on a bike. happened just after 4:00 yesterday. the suspect fled the scene on foot. in brentwood, another hit and run involving an 11-year-old. an 11-year-old girl was struck walking to school. she was air lifted to uc davis medical center. as for the driver, police arrested her half a mile away from the scene. detectives believe that the woman was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. an apple store in birlingame no stranger to robberies. 8 men ran into the store just before 8:30 last night. loaded up on display products jumped in two cars and sped away. the suspects stole around $70,000 in technology. two people have been arrested of stealing puppies at an animal rescue in san

francisco. wednesday night at the family dog rescue center. three men can be seen taking three puppies. the shelter posted photos of the young dogs online. and someone reposted the same photos offering the puppies up for sale. that led investigators to a starbucks in hayward and recovered two young huskies. >> the people who stole these dogs probably did something fairly stupid in stealing them from a shelter that has a very wide base of support. >> the whereabouts of a 2-month old pit bull and the third man seen in the video remain unknown. i'm anne makovec at the live news desk and we've got some breaking news out of hong kong. an activist joshua bail has been released out of jail. he and other pro democracy

activist are now free. they're still facing charges and at the same time authorities in hong kong denied permission for a future march set to happen tomorrow. tomorrow is the 5th anniversary of china denying democratic elections in hong kong. at this point it's unknown if those administers will still go on but certainly these protesters have a history of not really listening to authorities. back to you. >> anne thank you. a report from the justice department inspector director detailing his private conversations with president trump. comey was investigated for the memos he wrote after the 2016 election. this morning a colorado woman is facing legal action.

john lawrence reports. >> a pregnant diane sanchez pregnant in her jail cell july 18th. she said she suffered through labor alone. >> nobody helped me. there's so many people there. >> sanchez has file aid federal lawsuit against the city and county of denver and six individuals. >> the failure to provide care to a woman who is in labor and a baby who is born without any medical assistance in a dirty jail cell. this is not civilized. >> after sanchez gave birth. >> picks up the baby as if he's never seen one in his life. >> sanchez alleges in her suit that the staff at the jail saw it as quote inconvenient during the jail's booking process and that the staff was totally unequipped to care for the baby. >> that pain was indescribable.

and what hurts me more though is the fact that nobody cared. >> the denver sheriff's department conducted an internal investigation and said the deputies acted appropriately but as a result of the incident the department has changed its policy and any inmate in labor will be transported to the hospital immediately. i'm john lauren. a health watch. a new alert in sonoma county. this follows a statewide alert. no vaping related illnesses have been reported in the county so far. meantime the marketing prkts of juul are under scrutiny. the feds are investigating these flashy ads. the ftc could seek monetary damage for what it calls deceptive targeting on minors. the company says it fully cooperates ask is transparent

the hot seat. in today's money watch. stocks were up for the second day in a row. the dow added 326 points. the nasdaq gained 116 and the s&p 500, 36. three u.s. democratic senators want amazon to remodify unsafe products from its online store. a wall street journal investigation revealed 4,000 products were declared unsafe. motorcycle helmets, make up and a toy xylophone. unquestionably amazon is falling short of its commitment to keep

some locations 11 miles per hour in the winds. west northwest. 10 in san ramon. 13 in antioch. well it has been awhile since we have had any rainfall. by the numbers downtown san francisco we have gone now 100 days since we have seen 1/10" of rain or more. that happened on may 31st. that was a wet winter and wet spring and now we have that long and dry stretch for us. high pressure remains in control. it's to our south that's ushering in a little bit of an on shore flow so temperatures right around where we should be for this time of year. and you can see that sunshine on future cast as we take you through your afternoon. areas of fog along the coast looking at that sun as we head through the afternoon for your saturday, sunday, and labor day. allergy sufferers not the best news here.

we're looking at medium high levels for today but increases and skyrockets into the high category for saturday, sunday and labor day monday it looks like the worst of it with our pollen count. so daytime highs today looking at 86 in concord. 85 in livermore. 87 fairfield. and 67 for san francisco. mid 60s in pacifica. by the way if you're heading out to the milbury wine fest. and the salsalido art fest. here's the 7-day forecast temps warming up for the weekend and including labor day and we're going to stay sunny and warm into early next week. >> as far as the roadways are concerned they almost already feel like it's a holiday. it's friday and it seems like nobody's on the roads. let's take a look at the overall big picture. and that is not much. there are some issues but they are small. starting with highway 4.

this is in the opposite of the commute direction eastbound san marco boulevard. but as you can see not causing any problems or delays at this hour for those of you in that commute route. coming through the altamonte pass when do you ever see this. usually the top right-hand number is somewhere under 20 miles an hour. those of you coming out of the tracy triangle. you don't even slow down at all through the altamonte pass. and there is no slowing at this point on westbound 84. highway 4 and 101 also still looking good. fog advisory on the golden gate bridge but it's not that bad you can tell that from our live picture here where you can still see the bridge. nor do you have to give yourself any extra time on the bay bridge. there are some people there but hardly any delays at all for those of you headed into san

thanks to the impending holiday weekend get ready to enjoy it. for those of you headed out of town just be prepared. there will be extra traffic in the afternoon. >> the curtain has finally dropped on the nfl preseason. we're talking raiders and 9ers. but chargers were in town to test the 49er non starters including quarterback jimmy grop low. and look at this we'll hand off to jeff wilson jr. left and then right and down field. cj beth the quarterback delivering a block. for a 41-yard touchdown. they led 7-6. a little over a minute left in the first. looking for kendrick bore. nice recovery. it was 20159ers up 4.
