wb 80 is less then 30 min from the maze to sf. ( darya ) happening today... the oakland teachers union will decide whether teachers will walk off the job. teachers have been voting since last tuesday on whether to strike. tensions

have been high in the district---because as many as 24 schools are in jeopardy of closing. the school board already voted to close oakland's roots international academy. some community members are donating money to help teachers financially should union leaders call for a strike. ( darya ) in the east bay... police are looking for the gunman who shot a man in antioch. it happened in the area of lemontree way and sycamore drive yesterday afternoon. police have not released any information on a possible shooter but they say they are following some leads. the man who was shot... is currently in critical condition. ( darya ) happening now.. police are looking for the person who broke into a home in albany. the burglary happened at university village. u-c berkeley police are handling the investigation. the thieves came into the house through an unlocked window and stole two cell phones. the people living in the apartment were not injured during the burglary. there is no description of the thieves this morning. ( james ) on the peninsula -- police are looking for the person who shot a man and then

stole a car from a tire store. it happened in mountain view at america's tires on el camino real. an unidentified man apparently walked up to two employees and fired his gun at one of them while stealing a car. people who live nearby are on edge over what happened..

and died on the scene. the driver of the mini-van also died on the scene. police say three more cars crashed into them. ( james ) highway 101 was shutdown for about seven hours. investigators are waiting on a toxicology report to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash. ( james ) another big story we are following... big changes are coming to bart starting next week. on february 11th... bart will be starting service at 5 a-m instead of 4 a-m. this will happen as crews begin making changes to the transbay tube. bart will also single-track trains through the tubes on weeknights. additional trains will be added to the schedule. there will also be changes to the weekend schedule as bart upgrades the electrical power system in downtown san

( darya ) it's a critical week for congress and president donald trump as they head back to the negotiating table to fund the government. lawmakers have until february 15th to agree on border security funding. the government was partially shutdown for more than a month after democrats refused to fund a border wall. as yet another shutdown looms in the distance--president trump is finalizing tuesday's state of the union address. both sides of the aisle hope to make progress on capitol hill-- ( darya ) as congressional leaders return to capitol hill to work out a deal--president trump appears to be signaling a "border wall or nothing" approach to the negotiations. he says several options including another shutdown are on the table. patriots have won super bowl 53 by defeating the los angeles rams 13-3 at mercedes-benz stadium in atlanta, georgia. with the victory, quarterback tom brady has won six super bowl titles, the most of any player in nfl history. the patriots earn their sixth lombardi trophy - tying the pittsburgh steelers for the most super bowl wins. they defeated the rams and their young quarterback jared goff... goff and brady are both bay area natives... let's hear what the champions had to say after the gamer...

( james ) there are reports that a deal for the team to play at oracle park in san francisco could be finalized this week. kron 4's dan thorn has the story. a new report says the raiders are taking another good look at oracle park as it's 2019 home..sot: no i'd probably protest i'd have to because we right here in oakland why not stay?heartbroken die hard catherine lactaoen (lack toe a now) who likes to go by "raider cat" says she loves the idea of the raiders playing in the bay area next season. cbs sports says the nfl believes that's a strong

possibility..as for the raiders playing anywhere in the bay other than oakland..that's not sitting well with the super fan..sot: i love the raiders and i will follow them wherever but if they're going to be in the bay why san francisco? it doesn't make any sense they need to play at the o.the other option has been for the raiders to share levi's stadium with the 49ers. it's an idea that has not been well received by ownership.many fans of the silver and black have accepted the inevitable move to las vegas in 2020 but they just want the team back for one more year..sot: i pray that they could play another season in the coliseum. i'd love to see that. the raiders would have to play 7 regular season games at oracle park..the move would require the nfl to address security upgrades and other possible issues with the playing field .. for virginia governor ralph northam to resign....and some of those are coming from high- profile members of his own party.( james ) the democratic governor isn't receiving much support after a picture came out showing a blackface and klansman. john lawrence reports.

future.terry mcauliffe/d- former governor of virginia: "once that picture with the blackface and klansman came out there is no way you can continue to be the governor of the commonwealth of virginia." on saturday the democrat from virginia denied he was either person in that 19-84 photo and rejected calls to resign.gov. ralph northam/d-virginia"i tell the truth. i'm tellg the truth today. that was not my picture."but.....those comments came less than 24- hours after he apologized for being in that photo.president trump was quick to respond with a tweet....blasting northam for back-tracking and for his stance on abortion.and northam isn't getting much support from fellow democrats. rep. tulsi gabbard/d- presidential candidate"this is ultimately an issue that he needs to resolve with his own constituents. that's really the bottom line. he's got to have their trust, and if he doesn't, he should resign." former vice president joe biden also says northam needs to step down, tweeting the governor "has lost all moral authority."northam held a meeting about the yearbook photo sunday night with administration officials, sunday night, according to two sources.one source said that no one there told northam to stay......terry mcauliffe/d- former governor of virginia: "ralph will do the right thing

syria.... declaring the u-s had defeated isis. ( james ) grammy nominated rapper "21 savage" was taken into custody by the u-s immigration and customs enforcement in atlanta. "ice" says the rapper is a u-k resident in the u-s illegally. he was taken into custody in a sting operation. ice says he entered the u-s legally in 2005, but became illegal when he did not leave the u-s when his visa expired the next year. an attorney for the rapper issued a statement in part it reads:"we are working diligently to get mr. abraham-joseph out of detention while we work with the authorities to clear up any misunderstandings." ( darya ) a navy veteran is facing deportation back to mexico. joaquin sotelo has been in the u-s since he was 10-years-old. he got a green card and enlisted in the navy at the age of 19. but after returning from his service overseas he fell into drug addiction... and ended up serving time in prison. sotelo was detained in a feneral immigration facility for an additonal two years.

( darya ) last week, community activists marched to senator dianne feinstenin's office in downtown fresno to show support and to ask for help in sotel's case. he has to report to ice on february 12th. released body cam footage of a deadly officer-involved shooting last november. the video shows the last moments of 29-year-old agustin gonzalez's life... before hayward police shot him 13 times. the police chief says it started when officers responded to a call of two men fighting. the two responding officers say they thought they saw gonsalez with a knife and it was only after he refused their their orders and began walking toward them. that's when the officers opened fire. the chief says what they thought was a knife --- was actually a razor blade. gonsalez's family says he ofter carried a blade for work. is releasing the video now -- in an effort to be transparent. the gonsalez family intends to file a civil lawsuit against the officers- involved and the city of hayward...claiming unreasonable use of force. the officers who opened fire are back on regular patrol. ( darya ) happening today...leaders in paradise are looking for options...now that the town could lose two billion dollars in fema money. housing situation caused by the camp fire. ( james ) another big story we are following... 5 people died when a small plane crashed into a home outside of los angeles sunday afternoon. officials say the plane had just left the fullerton municipal airport. the house was destroyed. the pilot of the plane was killed... as were four people inside the home. there's no word on the cause of the crash. two other people were injured. there is no word on their condition this morning. the f-a-a and n-t-s-b are investigating ( james ) bay area actor and musician jussie smollett performed at his first show since his reported attack in chicago. smollett is known for his role as a gay singer on the hit t-v show 'empire'. the actor told police last week he was beaten by people yelling homophobic and racist slurs at him. on saturday he took the stage at the troubadour in west hollywood and told the crowd that he's doing o-k.

the person who stole containers of laughing gas from a dentists office on the peninsula.( james ) its typically used to sedate patients.. but as kron 4's haaziq madyun reports - the gas can be deadly. sotyou are looking at surveillance video of a man who allegedly broke into a storage room at this dental office building in south san francisco. this is where multiple thefts of nitrous oxide tanks have occurred here over the past year. as you can see these signs indicate this is dangerous stuffsot
