just reopened after an overnight mudslide.( darya ) kron 4's will tran is joining us now live with the latest. will. a mudslide sunday has closed state highway 35 (skyline boulevard) in both directions a half mile north of the castanea ridge road juncti in unincorporated san mateo county about halfway between cupertino and la honda. a transmission sunday night on san mateo county's alert system said the road could be closed for a week to clean up the mess. more specific information was not immediately available. ( james ) happening today... the oakland teachers union will decide whether teachers will walk off the job. teachers have been voting since last tuesday on whether to strike. tensions have been high in the district---because as many as 24 schools are in jeopardy of closing. the school board already voted to close oakland's roots international academy. some community members are donating money to help teachers financially should union leaders call for a strike. ( james ) happening now in the east bay... police are looking for the person who broke into a home in albany. the burglary happened at university village. u-c

berkeley police are handling the investigation. the thieves came into the house through an unlocked window and stole two cell phones. the people living in the apartment were not injured during the burglary. there is no description of the thieves this morning. on the peninsula -- police are looking for the person who shot a man and then stole a car from a tire store. it happened in mountain view at america's tires on el camino real. an unidentified man apparently walked up to two employees and fired his gun at one of them while stealing a car. some people who live nearby were concerned to hear about happened..

morning. they say it all started when a woman drove onto the vermont street on-ramp headed southbound in the northbound lanes. she first side swiped two cars - then continued around a bend...where she hit a mini- van head on. police say she wasn't wearing a seat belt and was ejected from her car and died on the scene. the driver of the mini-van also died on the scene. police say three more cars crashed into them. highway 101 was shutdown for about seven hours. investigators are waiting on a toxicology report to determine if alcohol or drugs contributed to the crash.

( james ) big changes are coming to bart starting next week. on february 11th... bart will be starting service at 5 a-m instead of 4 a-m. this will happen as crews begin making changes to the transbay tube. bart will also single-track trains through the tubes on weeknights. additional trains will be added to the schedule. there will also be changes to the weekend schedule as bart upgrades the electrical power system in downtown san francisco. ( james ) a big story this morning... the brand new transbay transit center will remain closed until at least june of this year. repair work is already underway after two cracked beams were found last year... now there is a new timeline for completion. over the weekend... work began on the bus deck above first street. crews are reinforcing the girders on the deck. and next month... steel plates will be delivered to the center for installation.

happening now... police are looking for the person who stole containers of laughing gas from a dentists office on the peninsula. its typically used to sedate patients... but it can be deadly. this is surveillance video of a man who officals say broke into a storage room at a dental office building in south san francisco. this is where multiple thefts of nitrous oxide tanks have occurred here over the past year.

store. a minneapolis tv station--kare 11-- far-away shoppers could be charged less for the same item, perhaps as an incentive to get them to shop. they found that target's app price for a samsung 55-inch smart tv was $499.99, but once the reporters pulled into the parking lot of a minnetonka store, the price increased to $599.99 on the app. disney has announced its first official lgbt pride event will take place in june of this year. "magical pride" will include late-night access to the park, a dance party and a parade through the park at disneyland paris. an organizer of the event told cbs news that the 2019 magical pride is the first official pride event organized by disney, though unofficial magical pride events have occurred at disney parks for a number of years. meanwhile, hotels dot com says it's giving away 53 free hotel rooms right after super bowl liii to "fans of the winning team-the patriots". you can go to big game babies dot com to find out more. the theory

but fema says toxic waste makes it unsafe. fema is threatening to cut 1-point-7 billion dollars in reimbursement funds if other solutions aren't found. ( james ) the town council passed the ordinance letting people live on their properties while rebuilding, to try to ease the emergency housing situation caused by the the camp fire officials say they have a meeting planned for today to decide what to do. released body cam footage of a deadly officer-involved shooting last november. the video show the last moments of 29-year-old agustin gonzalez. he was shot 13 times by two hayward officers. the police chief says it started when officers responded to a call of two men fighting. police say they thought they saw gonsalez with a knife --- and he refused to follow their orders and began walking toward them. that's when the officers opened fire. the chief says what they thought was a knife --- was actually a razor blade. gonsalez's family says he ofter carried a blade for work.

why this happened are all under investigation right now, and there's many questions that remain unanswered.">( james ) the chief says he is releasing the video now -- in an effort to be transparent. the gonsalez family intends to file a civil lawsuit against the officers- involved and the city of hayward...claiming unreasonable use of force. the officers who opened fire are back on regular patrol. ( james ) a 10- thousand dollar reward is being offered for information leading to the safe return of a child who went missing in 2016, when she was 2-years-old. arianna fitts went missing three years ago this month...she was last seen in oakland. arianna's mother, nicole fitts, was found murdered and buried in a mclaren park in san francisco. the f-b-i believes that arianna was not with nicole when she was killed. ( darya ) a 30-thousand dollar reward is being offered in a year-old homicide investigation. patrick scott junior was waiting at an oakland bus stop to go to his grandmother's house when he was approached by a gunman and shot several times.

patrick's mom describes the 27 year old as a gentle giant who stayed out of trouble. the f-b-i and oakland police are offering the reward. scott junior was killed one year ago sunday. ( darya ) another big story we are following... 5 people died when a small plane crashed into a home outside of los angeles sunday afternoon. officials say the plane had just left the fullerton municipal airport. the house was destroyed. the pilot of the plane was killed... as were four people inside the home. there's no word on the cause of the crash. two other people were injured. there is no word on their condition this morning. the f-a-a and n-t-s-b are investigating ( darya ) there have been a number of coyote sightings over the past week in south san francisco. this small coyote was spotted in the westborough neighborhood near the philz coffee earlier this week. there was another sighting saturday morning in kron 4 viewer's backyard. neighbors say there is a

family of coyotes living in this area. it's a reminder for those with small kids, cats, or dogs. to not leave them alone in the yard. ( james ) the golden state warriors are issuing a ticket fraud alert. they are warning fans about the dangers of buying tickets to games for the remainder of the season. officials say they are seeing an increase in fake tickets being purchased from non-verified third party vendors. over 400 fans have been denied access so far this year. they say the highest number of fake tickets was seen on christmas day when the warriors played the lakers. 45 fans were turned away that day. warriors-dot-com is the only verified resale marketplace. ( james ) sears should know its fate within the next few days. the retailer.....which once was the largest in the u-s......has a bankruptcy hearing starting today. the company is considering a plan to sell all of sears' assets, including more than 400-stores, to its chairman eddie lampert. that is the only way for the 133-year-old company to stay afloat and save about 45-thousand jobs. some creditors say sears should be closed and liquidated. the judge says the hearing will likely last a few days. even the halftime show was uninspired. maro 5 playing snippets of songs from 17 years ago.. even when adam levine took his shirt off, i didn't perk up. the most exciting moment was when big boi rolled up on the field in a classic cadillac.. and i thought about how many fans would love to head for the parking lot. take me away big-boy! for the first time, i was happy to be the only grown up who has to go to bed at 7:30.. cuz i knew i wasn't missing anything good. . the warriors.. they played the lakers sans lebron saturday night.. guess his groin wasn't as good as he thought.. but golden state sure was! the warriors beat l-a thanks to steph curry's 4th quarter rally. whatever ailed klay thompson was gone he poured in 28 points.. boogie chipped in 18 including a massive hammer dunk. k-d added 21. and the warriors have a thrilling comeback victory 115-101. now that's entertainment! and that's the buzz. we'll see you tomorrow.
