may even pursue legal action against those who made the accusations. we want to know what you think with our question of the day. will allegations about a candidate's past affect your vote in november? to weigh in, head to our website, click on the question of the day icon. tributes to a north las vegas fire captain who died last week. captain yaphet miller remembered as a father, friend and leader. >> he died after fire call last month. news 3's craig fiegener was there and has this emotional farewell. >> reporter: fire captain yaphet miller joined the north las vegas fire department when he was 21. he died last week after a medical emergency during a firefight. captain miller spent over half of his life with this department, 22 years and he was a champion of the profession. especially to children.

yaphet miller and i think that's amazing, in a way when we're looking for role models, you didn't have to look far. >> reporter: coworkers remembered him as a leader within the north las vegas fire department. a person who surprised no one when he was promoted to the rank of captain. >> yaphet miller was an outstanding fire captain, an intelligent man. when he was in charge, you knew things would be done right. >> i think loyalty. he was always there for us. always the most loyal man. >> reporter: captain miller died october 5th. he had a medical emergency during a shopping mall firefight. that was on september 23rd at rancho and washington. he had been hospitalized but never recovered. today, his funeral was held under a blue sky in the amphitheater at craig ranch park. everybody here to say goodbye.

hours while police investigated. this is the 7th officer-involved shooting in metro's jurisdiction. so as part of the protocol, the officers involved have been paid on leave. a bomb threat forces the evacuation of legoland, florida. officials say the threat came from a note found in the park. local and state police teamed up with the tampa bomb squad to search the park but they found no explosives. legoland is offering refunds to park visitors a feud between room mights sends some to the hospital. a hail of give greeted the officers when they responded to a call from a man who said his roommate was threatening him with a knife. investigators say a 33-year-old man opened fire on him with a shot gun. other officers shot and killed him while moving in their rescue to colleagues. >> he chose to use deadly force. when someone is gonna use deadly

appropriately. >> investigators can't fig out why -- can't figure out why he opened fire. they say he is a self-described bounty hunter. the officers involved were not wearing their body cameras when the bullets flew. the latest in the case against the man accused of setting off a bomb in new york and new jersey. >> the suspect is still in the hospital. but his attorney end entered a plea for him. and you won't believe what the desert is where bad guys go when they want to make evidence disappear.

new at 3:00, the man accused of setting off a pair of bombs in new york and new jersey officially pleads not guilty. an attorney for ahmad khan rahimi entered the plea while rahimi remains in the hospital. he's charged with five counts of attempted murder of a police officer after officials say he detonated a pipe bomb along the route of a charity race in new jersey and then set off a pressure cooker bomb in new york city. hundreds of snakes have shown up on a road in south florida. poli took over both lanes of a sarasota county road in an attempt to warm up on the blacktop. the snakes really aren't poisonous. the snakes are relocating after a pond was drained in preparation for hurricane matthew. >> no way. that gives me goose bumps. >> we'll move on, then.

customers at a restaurant in japan had part of a human finger in their raman. a mother reported finding what appeared to be part of a finger in her child's raman bowl. now, on full examination, officials found that fingertip about .4 inches wide with a fingernail still attached. so gross. the restaurant apparently said that a part-time worker cut her left thumb while making the raman. officials instructed the restaurant to enforce their sanitation control. you think? one person was killed and 40 hurt when a tractor-trailer and tour bus collided outside of atlanta. it happened this morning. >> the bus slammed into the truck shortly before noon in gillmore county. ambulances made several trips to accommodate all of the injured. a witness said the bus appeared
