explosion that destroyed a home near chicago. take a look..you can see the fire burning out of control in the distance. witnesses say the gas explosion sounded like a bomb and an earthquake. several people had to be forced out of their homes and traffic entering the neighborhood had to be halted so firefighters could fight it. two gas company workers were injured. one of them is in critical condition. no one was inside the building when this happened. a murder suspect in louisville, kentucky is on the loose after th released him. terrance moore is accused of killing a 21-year-old man. the department of corrections released the accused murder this week because of what it is calling a "clerical oversite." moore was able to walk out of prison without even posting bond. the victim's family says they're still in the dark about how the killer was able to walk free. "you catch the guys, and that was a sigh of relief, but you let him go? that hurts." so far moore is still on the run and a state inquiry is

in akron, ohio, nurses there are seeing a spike in babies being born addicted to heroin. last year, nurses at akron's children hospital treated over 200 newborns who were addicted to the drug. the nurses say this is far from easy, because the infants go through painful opiate withdrawals, just like adults do. one way they are able to treat the withdrawals is through medications such as morphine. but the nurses also say, good old fashioned t-l-c goes a long way as well. hold the baby skin to skin, having them in a quiet environment, low lighting, low noises, encouraging the family to be here as much as possible to take care of them the hospital also provides drug addiction treatment for the mothers as well. right now..hurricane nicole is getting closer to bermuda this is a look at the storm...it's a category 2 storm..

could near major hurricane strength later today. one of the nation's most controversial sheriff's is being slapped with criminal charges by a federal court. sheriff joe arapio of arizona is being caged with criminal misconduct for not ending his immigration sweeps which the supreme court found unconstitutional. arapio has been the center of controversy many times, some have even gone as far as calling him racist a the u-s attorney of arizona says he's fed-up, and wants arapio to answer to a judge. although, arapio says he is not worried, his lawyer is alread fighting over what kind of trial the sheriff will have to face. las vegas at 6.... we're following two big crashes in the valley... road rage could be to blame for one of them... in the other, a semi driver is accused of driving drunk. yasmeen is tracking your way around any delays... but let's start with marissa at sahara and durango..with the latest on that possible road rage crash. right now theyre still cleaning up the mess-- there is still debris everywhere. when we got here-- the road was we do know this was a multi vehicle crash-- it looks like at least four cars may have been involved-- you can see one of them jumped the center median-- possibly crashing into a tree. right now-- the roads are still open-- but drivers need to watch out for street sweepers-- and any leftover debris. we are still working to get more information from police about what exactly happened-- and to see if anybody was
