expect this time of year with systems rolling into the bay area. not overly extreme out there but some areas picking up a inch of rain, 1.47 occidental. you can see san jose, livermore, pout 47. oakland .36 and concord .18. the latest on live storm tracker 2. >> scattered showers, santa cruz mountains, over the mountains as well and showers towards the peninsula. sfo, you can see showers there and san francisco, spotty activity to report around the richmond district, towards the eastern portion of the city. and then not as much coverage in the east bay. we could have a few sprinkles around orinda. moving out of the north bay, scattered showers. also in the sierra, look at

forecast for later this week has sand bag stations in business. it is all work and a little play. rain started falling over night in the bay area. in san francisco the soaked ground and gravity were no match for a large tree that took out phone lines. in the north bay on and off showers made for a lazy sunday drive. the clouds hugging the hills, competing with breaks of sun. the same system dropped showers in oakland this morning. >> i like the rain. i don't like working in the rain. >> the farmers rocket dotted with umbrellas and rain -- market dotted with umbrellas and rain coats. >> reporter: [ inaudible question ] [ indiscernible ] >> the christmas trow now comes with a mote -- tree now

mineta international airport 350,000 will pass through this airport. that would be a 7% spike from last year and in oakland, 355,000 people are expected to go through. that is up from last year. over now a live picture of san francisco international airport. the highest volume in the bay area is expected. from november 21 through tomorrow the airport is predicting that 1.3 million people will pass through. that is up 3% compared to last year. coming up later 5:30 p.m. we will take you live to sfo where the delays piling up. breaking news to tell you about now from san francisco, police are searching for a gunman involved in a shooting. it happened about 2:30 p.m. this afternoon near columbus and vallejo street. it started with a mental -- mentally ill man who got into
an argument with a driver. at one point the mentally ill man shouted a racial slur at the driver and hit the car with a cane. the driver then shot him in the shoulder. you can see blood on the shoulder of the victim. the victim was taken to san francisco general hospital with non-life threatening injuries. police say the shooter left the scene in a gray car. now to the south bay. a 13 hour stand off in downtown san jose finally came to an wend the suspect under arrest. -- end and the suspect is underarrest. ktvu's azenith smith has more. >> reporter: he threw bricks at police officers and firefighters.
he is facing arson, assault and vandalism. >> reporter: san jose police nabbed the suspect with gas. he finally surrendered at 3:00 p.m. this afternoon. it began at 2:00 a.m. this morning when homeowners woke up to a burglary in progress. police say the suspect ran to the home next store, climbed on top of the roof. police say he started disassembling part of the roof. >> we had bricks thrown at us. metal pipes. disassembling the attic. >> pretty scary. pretty scary thing to see. never saw something like that. hands up. cutting himself. and it was awful. >> reporter: neighbors woke up to the scene and watched throughout the day after the suspect hung obto a -- on to a
window. he was acting odd and was believed to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol. police evacuated three homes and closed off a portion of south second street. a lot of resources were used. at one point 30 san jose police officers were here. live in san jose, azenith smith, ktvu channel 2 news. developing news tonight in ohio. police say they have found the body of a college football player who went missing on wednesday. police say the body of ohio state university football player kosta karageorge was in a dumpster with a gun and appears he died from a self- inflicted gun shot wound. hisuffered from -- he suffered from concussions. the mother received a texas message say -- text message
saying the concussions were effecting him. in ferguson, missouri people are reacting to darren wilson's resignation. >> got information from the chief that they had information suggested there were going to be acts taken against the department, related to his continued employment. >> there were 100 protesters in ferguson, missouri last night. two people were arrested. an alderman said he shouldn't be the only one to resign and called for the police chief to step down. >> it is impossible for the community to move forward with him in the role. >> they are conducting two investigations into darren wilson and the ferguson, missouri has its own investigation going on into the shooting. there will be church gathering tonight to mourn the loss of

with a blond buzz cut. he is 5'9", 160 pounds, medium build. the vehicle was jeep or a toyota suv. police say a teenager was arrested for hitting someone with his car on purpose. it happened at a mobile home park near 101 after 1:30 a.m. this morning. the suspect was driving recklessly. the victim was trying to get her to slow down. when he struck the victim. he was booked on assault with a deadly weapon. we are learning more about an idea to leave part of the eastern span of the bay bridge in place. parts have been demolished but they are thinking about preserving several of the old peers near the shoreline. the idea would save millions in demolition costs. it could also be repurposed into something useful like a
walkway or a land mark. >> the idea is to make it look nice ask compliment the environment. >> the demolition agreement calls for the removal of every piece of the eastern span of the bay bridge. several agencies would have to approve the change. folks in contra costa county may have felt shaking this morning. this morning 2.6 earthquake hit. the earthquake was 4 miles east of clayton. it is the time of year for people to get that christmas tree but today's rain may have discouraged a few. we found customers at the christmas tree lot in oakland. it is a family run business that delivers fresh trees from northern california and
