"We follow up the money give-away show with the same idea from a reverse perspective. In 1996, claiming poverty which was real, I asked listeners for a free car on threat of quitting the show if I didn't get one. Although it was necessary for me to get a new car to continue the show at that time, unexpectedly, it worked! I still drive that free car today. This is the story of that car donation and the show from the following week which was the "replacement" show for OTE hosted by Ronald Redball because I supposedly did not get a car. When will people stop believing me? Hard to tell." - Don Joyce

Long Live Don Joyce's Car!
This is probably one of the funniest OTE episodes.
The manner with which he pulls it off - simultaneously dead serious, yet still humorous is amazing. I don't think many radio stations would let a program host go on the air and threaten to quit their show unless someone gives them a free car - but somehow Don sells it.
I won't give it away - there are multiple twists and turns and humorous conceits to this saga - but that the car he did eventually end up with outlives him is nothing short of a radio miracle.
