Arcade conversion of the Taito game Night Striker to the playstation. This is pretty much an arcade perfect port with no real extras apart from extended credits I guess. Much easier than the Mega-CD version I played before as now I can see what I am doing although it should be noted that the Mega-CD version does have an arranged music mode.
Gameplay is pretty simple. Fly/drive through a very short level, smash the boss and move on up through forks in the road in similar fashion to Outrun and ultimately land on the final level of choice for a specific ending. I play on Very Hard mode so enemy fire power is fast and deadly. To combat this there is no chance to aim at anything so I usually just endup doing a circular motion around the screen to avoid all incoming fire and spray bullets in the hope of hitting something. Very difficult in the factory and tunnel levels as there are other obstacles to crash into. I have recorded all levels and endings and try to keep each patch varied.
A quick run down of the paths taken. Sadly no special ending for completing them all. The title screen is left idle for a few moments until the intro plays before the actual game begins.
