Sermon on getting a swim buddy and joining a boat crew, that looks at
the Transfiguration as the foretaste of the Resurrection and asks what
we need to do to travel together down the road to Jerusalem, Golgotha,
and the tomb. It about our call to be on God's liberation and healing
teams for the sake of the Cosmos. It may not be whole until Christ
comes again, but we are going to work in his name until then, binding up
the broken-hearted, healing the sick, bringing the lost home, and
setting the captive free.

O God, who before the passion of your
onlybegotten Son revealed his glory upon the holy mountain: Grant to us
that we, beholding by faith the light of his countenance, may be
strengthened to bear our cross, and be changed into his likeness from
glory to glory; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with
you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
