Crabbe & St. John - Same Old, Same Old
Buster Crabbe (Billy the Kid) and Al St. John (Fuzzy Q. Jones in another PRC movie. IMDb says its a 56:00show, we get 53;56 here - no great loss. One again, PRC has surrounded Crabbe with seasoned bad guys, including John Merton, Jack Ingram, Slim Whitaker, Kermit Maynard and Karl Hackett. The beauty here is Caroline Burke - IMDb says she appeared in 4 films between 1942-45. Evidently there was money in her family as she is noted as a collector of modern art; she was also a Broadway producer and an educator, teaching television production at Columbia University. The plot is pedestrian - big boss Merton has scared everyone out of Larame so he can find a gold deposit once owned by the now dead Kincaid and now owned by Burke and her brother. Crabbe decides to help them and is a one-man SWAT team. St, John is given rein to go through some of his inane comedy schtick - fortunately, not enough to ruin the film. On the other hand its not a very good film.
