compared to yesterday where in the afternoon we had clouds roll in and some of us did see thunderstorms. looking now in philadelphia out into center city, 72 where we sit currently. winds not an issue. 6 miles an hour. winds today pulling in drier conditions meaning it won't feel as humid, which does mean in the afternoon it will be hot. it will not feel like mid to upper '90s out there. instead we'll have temperatures right where we should be upper 80s and lower 90s for this time of year. hot but better than yesterday. on radar and satellite. not a thing to track. no showers for us. mostly clear skies as well. today a few pop-up clouds are pop. look at your forecast for today, low 70s to around 80 and mid 80s by noon. forecast high temperatures peaking into philadelphia in the upper 80s this afternoon and we keep with sunshine. we'll look at the next several days and when humidity returns coming up. >> this morning police in berks

county are investigating what they're calling a murder/suicide. a family of five was found dead in a home in sinking spring just outside of reading. the berks county district attorney identified the family as mark short, his wife megan and their three children. the district attorney says they died of gunshot wounds. their bodies were discovered yesterday afternoon in a house on winding brook drive. police plan to release more information about the investigation later on today. new this morning, police tell us a man was shot while driving a car with his two kids inside in west philadelphia. this happened just after 1:00 this morning near the corner of 55th and spring street. according to authorities the man was shot in the face. right now he's in critical condition. a short time after this shooting in an unrelated incident, a 36-year-old man died. he was shot in southwest philadelphia. police tell us two shooters approached the man as he was putting gas in his motorcycle right here at the bp gas

>> today in rio chester county riders will compete and penn state grad max holt leads u.s. against canada in men's volleyball and lori hernandez hits the floor in women's artistic gymnastics qualifier. a lot going on in terms of olympics. definitely don't want to miss it. back in our area, officials investigate this fence collapse at camden bb&t pavilion. the rail gave way and people dropped from the lawn area to cement walkway below. 42 people went to the hospital. secured ushered away performers and medics rushed in to help injured fans. >> there were so many people. >> it was a domino effect.

it was egt just happened at one time. >> officials tell us the venue is inspected regularly and did not have code violations. tonight bb&t will host another group. yesterday some roofing material caught fire on a building on hilton road. it took about half an hour for crews to get the flames under control. the firefighters suffered minor injuries. this morning investigators are looking for the cause of another fire that closed this popular pub in montgomery county. servers and cooks were preparing for the dinner crowd yesterday when the blaze broke out. everybody inside the building got out safely. damage mainly to the exterior of the building and after firefighters put out the flames, e everybody was allowed back in. 6:05 on this sunday. police have a warning about

beginning with a look at temperatures right now across the map we're looking at 54 degrees for mt. pocono. some of us seeing 50s. nice start to the morning out there as we move along. 64 allentown. reading as well. we move into some 70s, philadelphia at 72. as you move into new jersey, a lot of 60s out there right now. trenton at 66. mid 60s for mt. holly. atlantic city at 68 and cape may a tad warmer at 74 degrees. that temperature out there to kick off the day and today will be a nice day to be outside

because while it will be hot and utilize shade when you can, you can be out there humidity won't be as high as yesterday meaning it's not going to feel quite as sticky. this is a look at the next five days for you. we are tracking temperatures going from about 89 on your sunday. staying consistent as we move forward actually. we'll see temperatures staying in upper 80s and then we see some of the mid to upper 80s in parts of the lehigh valley. we see thunderstorms popping up as well your wednesday into thursday with temperatures sitting in the mid to upper 80s. thunderstorm potential does not move back in until wednesday and that will continue thursday into your next weekend. we'll track the extended ten day in just a bit. authorities are warning about lethal doses of heroin. they tell us victims use heroin

stamped with the names red snowman or super star. investigators say anyone turning over the drug with those stamps to police will not face any penalties or charges. in butler, ohio, more than two dozen people were treated for drug overdose at a music festival yesterday. concert goers were given candy laced with a high dose of thc. that's the chemical compound found in marijuana. the laced candy resembled nerds. nobody lost consciousness and everyone is expected to recover. this morning this man is facing charges of assaulting crew members and passengers on a flight that safely diverted to phoenix. crew members and passengers restrained him until the plane landed. that's when police arrested him. 6:10 right now. 72 degrees outside the nbc 10 studios. coming up, a change in the rules for people in delaware when it

know about. two female police officers in belgium are recovering after a man attacked them with a machete. the country's prime minister says preliminary indications suggest it was an act of terrorism. according to authorities, the attacker yelled god is great in arabic. a third officer shot and killed that man. in dubai investigators are trying to figure out what caused this fire at a high rise building under construction. you can see black smoke rising from the building in this video. it took firefighters five hours to get the blaze under control. fortunately nobody was hurt. this is just the latest in a series of high rise fires in the tourism hub. back here in the u.s., the federal aviation administration is investigating a deadly sky diving accident in northern california. two young men died yesterday morning during a tandem jump. according to authorities it appears their parachute did not deploy. they fell to the ground in this

vineyard near the sky diving school. the owner of that school says the instructor was an independent contractor but a seasoned jumper. donald trump trying to put out a fire burning through his presidential poll numbers. last night the republican nominee campaigned in new hampshire. he's endorsing gop leaders he didn't support up to this past week including house speaker paul ryan and arizona senator john mccain. trump also pounced on clinton's use of the term short circuited in describing her recent answer to a tv journalist about her e-mail scandal. take a listen. >> honestly, i don't think she's all there. the people of this country don't want somebody that's going to short circuit up here. >> clinton seemed to stumble while answering the e-mail question at a gathering of black and hispanic journalists in washington on friday.

the democratic nominee repeated the fbi director said she was truthful about her use of a private server and her handling of classified messages while secretary of state. clinton is off the campaign trail this weekend. democratic vice presidential nominee tim kaine will sit down with chuck todd on today's edition of "meet the press." that comes your way at a special time. it's going to be at 9:00 this morning right here on nbc 10. president obama is now taking his final summer vacation in office. yesterday the president and first family arrived at martha's vineyard in massachusetts to begin their two-week break. president obama is expected to play golf, spend time on the beach, go on hikes with his family and have dinner with the first lady and their friends at some of the island's top restaurants. now to news in florida where some women are choosing to delay getting pregnant because they're afraid they might get the zika virus.

a miami fertility clinic has seen women delaying implementation. one woman who works and lives in the area where local officials are suspected of occurring had their eggs harvested last week. she's holding off on implanting them until the weather cools and mosquito population drops. >> it's a decision that was probably made in the last 24 hours. i'm really scared. i really am. >> due to privacy laws, it's not known if any of miami's 16 homegrown zika cases include pregnant women. zika can cause birth defects including infants with small skulls and brain damage. low income families in delaware are getting help in protecting against zika. medicaid recipients can now get benefit coverage for over the

1,000 feet long slip and slide. kids and adults used tubes to slide through. it travels throughout the country all summer long to give folks a nice break from the heat. that looks fun. we could use one of those today. hot this afternoon. a look at temperatures this morning and not a bad start at all. this is some of your temperatures in the jersey shore neighborhood looking right now at 67 degrees. low 70s for us in atlantic city. we have some upper 60s clustered here around upper township. 68 at cape may courthouse and then low 70s at cape may point at 73 degrees. we jump from jersey shore neighborhood temperatures over to some of our delaware temperatures and what we're seeing right now harmony hills at 67 degrees. wilmington at 68. middleton at 70 degrees. with he drop down farther south and lincoln is at 71. so these temperatures a lot of

70s. 60s out there to kick it off. if you're getting ready to do that early morning workout, things should be fine for you. good news is not quite as humid today as it was yesterday. on your radar and satellite, that's because a lot of moisture we have has moved out not just in terms of rain chances. those are gone for today. and we're not seeing higher humidity. drying out for your forecast this sunday and that will continue the next several days here. you can see we've got big area of clear conditions over us. high pressure will build in. that means bubble builds over or bubble at that keeps storm and moisture out is what we're looking at for the next several days. you can look at that at the bottom of your screen. seven-day forecast for your neighborhood always rolling. these are weather stories. today, hot and dry. ahead, midweek changes. let's talk about the hot and dry conditions for us looking at the forecast around your region. in philadelphia, 9:00 a.m., 77 degrees, upper 80s by afternoon. take note a lot of sunshine in this forecast.

big difference from yesterday's board. sunny conditions in the suburbs. 82 at 1:00 p.m. 83 in lehigh valley with temperatures mid to upper 80s. and delaware close to 90 by this afternoon. 86 at 5:00 p.m. in new jersey, sunshine continues along the shore where we should cap mid 80s. gorgeous day along parts of the shore or delaware beaches for us. we do have midweek changes that are in our forecast. 10 day on 10, sunny for us today. monday and tuesday we stay in the upper 80s. what we see here is that by wednesday we're in the lower 90s. some extra cloud coverage building in. isolated storm on thursday and friday and then right through that weekend into next monday as well. at this point it's chances and not guarantees. we're looking at more moisture and humidity picking up again by wednesday. a warning for commuters before they head to work

forecast. meteorologist krystal klei is tracking cooler conditions than yesterday. just a bit. >> we are tracking those drier conditions as well. you're right. looking better off on your sunday than what we saw for your saturday. today we will still be hot though. we're looking at temperatures creeping into the upper 80s later today. you can track those temperatures at the bottom of your screen with the seven day forecast. dry and hot today. then we move into the next few days. still going to be a dry start to that workweek. leave the umbrella at home for a few days. not for the entire week. maybe just leave it in the car for that backup because late week is when we start to talk chances of showers popping up again in your extended forecast. temperatures right now, this is a gorgeous start to your sunday. 64 in allentown. 68 in wilmington. 72 in philadelphia. those mid 60s in vineland and mt. holly and trenton. temperatures outside are going to bump up as we move in. this is typical for this time of year. should see mid to upper 80s and

does confirm for us that they were called here about 3:00 yesterday afternoon. a family of five was discovered dead inside. a shocking discovery. the family is identified as mark short, his wife megan, their children. the district attorney also says all five died of gunshot wounds. police were here late into the night speaking with relatives who showed up at the scene and in situations like this, investigators search for a weapon. they also search for a note explaining what led someone to fire that weapon. now, an aspect of the family's life has been chronicled on local and national newspapers and on social media. we're working to bring that to you in the next half hour. live for now from sinking springs in berks county, monique braxton, nbc 10 news. >> thanks for that. new this morning, police tell us a man was shot while driving a car with his two children inside

collapse on friday night. >> reporter: moments before the collapse cell phone video captured snoop dogg pumping up the crowd at the new jersey concert turning their backs for just a moment when suddenly the railing gave way sending dozens of fans slamming into the concrete floor five feet below. their bodies falling in waves. >> it looked like something in a movie that you would never see. piles and piles of people just on top of each other. >> reporter: it happened inside this popular event venue where eager fans were edging closer to the railing hoping to snap photos of the duo until finally their weight pushed it over. >> the crowd rushed. when the crowd rushed the fence couldn't hold it and the fence collapsed. >> reporter: 42 people sent to the hospital. one in critical condition. as first responders built makeshift tents to treat injured fans lying on stretchers outside of the arena the concert canceled. >> everyone on the lawn was

screaming oh my god. is everyone okay? you can hear people crying. people carrying their friends off. >> reporter: snoop dogg tweeted prayers to my fans. >> live nation said it's actively working with authorities and structural engineers to determine the cause of the collapse. a chaotic end to a concert meant to bring fans together on a summer night. >> that was morgan radford reporting. now to news at the delaware beaches where police need your help to track down two people whom they say carjacked an 80-year-old man. take a look at these pictures of the couple police are looking for. the elderly victim told police that he gave the man and woman a ride in his suv to another convenience store in town. investigators say when they arrived at the store the man tried to grab the victim's keys while the woman scratched his hand. the victim managed to get out of his car and the couple then drove off. here's what we're looking for.

the all-time olympic champion is ready for his final push in the pool. baltimore's michael phelps off his role as team usa's flag bearer is ready to make a splash in rio. his fifth and final olympics. tonight in nbc prime time you'll see phelps in 4x100 freestyle relay sharing the spotlight with katie ledecky. in rio she's looking for three more gold medals. the first of those in the 400 meter freestyle. ledecky picked up a silver medal yesterday in 4x100 freestyle rel relay. this morning new details about an amnesty offer septa police made to a man who stole a
