[ cheers and applause ] here's what people are talking about. hey guys, do you remember that old episode of "the apprentice" where trump fires omarosa and she flips out?

well, i guess they aired a a rerun the other night at the white house. and uh -- [ laughter and applause ] yeah. it came out yesterday that omarosa had been fired, but the white house says she's leaving to pursue other opportunities. even dogs living on a farm upstate were like, "yeah, right. i mean." [ applause ] it's a crazy story. after chief of staff john kelly fired omarosa, she apparently tried to barge into trump's private residence. secret service agents stopped her, while another said, "eh, i want to see how this plays out. get your phone. get your phone out." [ applause ] but omarosa's trying to put a a positive spin on things. she said her goal all along was to reach one year of working in the white house. [ laughter ] which is funny because that's actually trump's goal too. [ cheers and applause ] and so they have similar -- similar -- well, omarosa went on "good morning america" today to give her side of the story, but

robin roberts had some interesting parting words. check this out. >> i don't know if she's ever going to have a relationship with him again, yeah. fourth time could be the charm. >> that's what she said. she has a story to tell and i'm sure she'll be selling that story. >> yeah, she will. bye, felicia. [ cheers and applause ] ♪ >> steve: oh, snap! >> jimmy: and you thought it was cold out before. oh, yeah. "bye, felicia." meanwhile trump was like, "i thought her name was omarosa. is it felicia? you're fired, felicia. you tell her, you tell her." [ laughter ] this made me laugh. i read that this week in the oval office, a spider was on trump's back and someone killed it by smacking him. and for the rest of the day staffers were like, "oh, look, another spider! oh look, another spider! oh there's one on your face!" [ applause ] "ba-uh-bah-uh-ow-ew-wall."

[ laughter ] meanwhile, trump said that he wants to give people a giant tax cut for christmas. yeah. leave it to trump to give you a a christmas present that's actually just your own money. it's like, "oh, you shouldn't have." "i didn't." [ laughter ] the republicans are still working on their tax bill and paul ryan even tweeted out his own version of "'twas the night before christmas" and changed all the words to make it all about taxes. well, i guess trump heard about it because he just released his own version. take a look at this. ♪ [ laughter ] >> 'twas the night before christmas in washington, d.c., and not a person was working and especially not me. when all of a sudden, there came a loud bing bing bong and i went to go outside to see what was wrong. and there was st. nicholas, who started to say, "merry christmas to all and god bless the united states." not bad. good job. that's funny. another big story out of washington, today the fcc voted to repeal net neutrality, which will make people pay for faster internet service. people called it greedy and unfair then the cable company said, "have we not met? hi, yeah, we're the cable company. that's what we do." [ laughter and applause ] yeah, the repeal means that internet providers could slow down or block certain sites. americans were like, "if you can block twitter at the white house, you got a deal. let's do this. if that's possible. [ cheers and applause ] then i'll think about it." but major business news here. disney has just closed a deal to buy most of 21st century fox. but they will not be buying fox news. [ laughter ] i guess disney was like, "thanks, but we've already got enough cartoon characters. we're good." [ applause ] well, this isn't good. a jetblue flight on its way from l.a. to new york had to turn around after a passenger started biting people. [ laughter ]

the passengers were furious. they said, "how come he gets a a meal? [ laughter ] blue chip! nobodies blue chips!" earlier tonight was the big thursday night football game between the denver broncos and the indianapolis colts. now, as you know, at the end of the season, they give out most valuable player awards, but they also give out other awards during the season sort of like the ones in high school yearbooks like "most likely to succeed, class clown." stuff like that. so with that in mind, it's time for "tonight show superlatives." here we go. [ cheers and applause ] first marathon, yes. >> jimmy: and you finished -- >> i finished in 4:03. my first marathon. i was on pace to do it in 3:28, but i got shot with this thing called a cramp gun. >> jimmy: did you really get a a cramp? >> no, no, not a cramp. my whole body, like, literally, i was running and i stopped and i was like, oh, yeah, that's it. that's it. [ laughter ] my guy was like, "come on, man, you got to finish." and i was like, "oh, this is not a choice. this isn't a choice." like my body is doing this, and i had to, like, stop. and i just remember, you know, the crazy thing about the new york marathon is there's so many people cheering on the side. like, go, go! and you realize, like, they don't know none of these runners. like, they're just naturally out there.

and i was like, you don't have nothing to do today. like, what -- [ laughter ] >> jimmy: that's the spirit -- that's the spirit of new york city, baby. >> but it wasn't -- >> jimmy: we show up. we show up. >> it caused a lot of questions for me. i was like this is -- [ laughter ] i was like, i want your support, but i was like it's 2:00. you got to have something else to do. nothing? [ light laughter ] >> jimmy: you know what i saw that i thought was funny, there's a way you can track the runners on the -- going through the marathon. >> oh, yeah. i saw that, yeah. >> jimmy: what stages they're at. and you had like, you know, whatever, the 30,000 followers or whatever. 100,000 followers -- but there was another kevin hart who was a -- >> yeah, this made me mad. [ laughter ] >> jimmy: 59-years-old from hollywood, florida. and he had 25,000 followers. [ laughter ] >> yeah, it's very -- it really pissed me off when i found out about it. when i found out -- it pissed me off for two reasons. one, he was 59-years-old and he was moving. like, he was -- [ laughter ] so -- so at first, when i found out, you know, 'cause i'm getting texts. they're like, "yo, man, dude, you're out, you're out, you're going fast.

you're at like a six and a half minute mile," and i'm like, "no i'm not." i don't know -- [ laughter ] not according to my pace. not according to what i got. and then when i found out the age, i was mad because i couldn't approach him, you know, with frustration 'cause he was -- he was better than me at that age. >> jimmy: so you never caught up to him. >> i had to just let it die, but he definitely caught a lot of the attention that i was supposed to get.
