is on for this violent crook, and now the details, a south philadelphia man is talking to "action news" after a thief broke into his home while he was sleeping, it happened on jackson street at 4:30 a.m. the man went after a pair of pants. >> chad the victim tells me inside of those trouszers were was $3,000 and this is a bizarre story because the intruder came in not once but twice. frank cavallari was sound asleep on his couch when the intruder kicked in his door. >> felt someone passed by and walked to where my trausers were and took the trousers and he mumbled something i couldn't grasp.
>> the intruder fled with his pants inside was his wall etd and $3,000. it took five years for the man to save the money. >> it took years to save it up, nickels and dimes and quarters, i'm not a wealthy man, i may be handso handsome. >> this was caught on surveillance just after 4:30 a.m. it shows the suspect walking up to his home and he was obviously targeted because the suspect went for his pants and the intruder returned this morning at 8:30. >> he came back and said look i'm from the neighborhood and i feel bad for you, i heard what happened but i happen to know who the guys were the suspect said he needed $100 to get his belongings back and he called police and the two scuffled and
the suspect fled once again. >> he got up to leave and that is when i pretended i had a gun and it was that wrench. i said stand where you are or i'll shoot you, he punched me and knocked me down twice. >> he says that his car keys were also in the pants and that the suspect went through the trunk of his car right there. now he believes that the suspect may be connected to a female friend of his, police are investigating and in the meantime therk are putting these bulletins on the vehicles in the neighborhood telling residents to keep a lookout. >> chad pradelli, channel 6 "action news." >> thank you. police believe a 55-year-old man is behind several attacks behind women in university city, officers caught him going after a grad student and the 38-year-old woman was followed when she got off the bus and was struck in the head way metal bicycle lock and she fought back
and was dragged 50 yards down the street and officers had increased patrols in the area because of recent crimes when they spotted the assault in progress, they believe the same man groped to students yesterday and sexually assaulted and robbed a student on monday. it shocked people that live nearby. >> live at 46th and walnut and i don't want to go out at night by myself. the suspect is connected to four or five attacks but they do not think he is responsible for the rape of a drexel student at his apartment. there are no suspects in that case and police are urging people in university city to stay alert. fellow firefighters and friends will say good-bye to a philadelphia hero, various people are invited to pay their respects to joyce craig at bachelor brothers funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
the veteran of the fire department will be laid to rest tomorrow morning, she was killed trying to rescue an elderly woman in a house fire. this marks the first time a female firefighter was killed in philadelphia. >> seth ramsey was arrested yesterday at his home in harrington, police were doing a wellness check after coworkers said they hadn't seen todd ramsey for days and that is when the 17-year-old told them he may have killed his father and the victim's father was found in the bedroom with a wound in his torso. ramsey is being held without bail. police have identified the man identified in a double shooting in port richmond. 24-year-old john marques jones was shot in the neck. and a 35-year-old remains in critical condition with a wound to the abdomen, police are searching for the gunman.
