not talking traffic but wheaton, delaware a scaffolding collapsed at a traffic site. four were injured during the collapse. workers are were 30 feet in the air and fell 15 to 20 to a level below and one is suffering from life-threatening injuries. we continue to stay on top of that one and will bring the latest as well. meanwhile turning to politics now, of course, the countdown is on. thank for joining us i'm sarah simmons. >> i'm laura evans. >> it's election eave antepresidential nominees are making one last push for votes as they chris cross the country in key battle ground states. the final hours of the 2016 campaign. live in new york city both candidates will hold their election night parties. tom, what is the mood like right now? >> reporter: just a couple problems north of where we are, laura, sarah, donald trump tomorrow night will be taking up his quarters he into the hilton midtown.
stationed will take up calfer us in javas convention center. both candidates taking up residents in new york tonight the first time this happened since the 1940s having both major presidential candidates in this city on the same night. and as we head into this election right now, there's fresh evidence tonight that that double digit lead that hillary clinton enjoyed about four weeks ago has now but all but evaporated the evening before this election. let's show you some of the politics average polls. this is in a four way race. it's showing clinton at 45% and trump at 42.%, why is that significant. hillary clinton was up over donald trump 11 points at one point in late september that is before fbi director jim comey came out with the bomb shell announcement they reopened the investigation into her emails.
out yesterday telling congress they reviewed the emails of anthony weiner's server and were not change the position in july not to file charges in the case. but the damage may be done here already for hillary clinton. that double digit lead coming too close this election. she's not able to rebound in the way she hoped up to this point. maybe damaging the democrat's hope of taking the senate. one of the key issues in this race in ou virginia. let's look at where virginia is right now. because where this race is right now as tight entered significantly. the real clear politics average right now has clinton ahead 47.3%. trump not far behind at 42.3. now, that's a 5-point margin. that is much closer than many people had expected it late in this period.. northern virginia, especially, with the influx of democrats
arling ton county. fairfax county and loudoun county. trump is closer in northern virginia and throughout the state that had been expected when the democrats were hoping to have a much better lead heading in tonight than they do in the state. this is one of the places trump campaign is hitting often. they were in loudoun county early this morning as the schedules were throughout the day and they're making stops from florida to new hampshire. this race, toni stands is not in a position where the democrats wanted it. they felt they would have a long lead up before where they were right now. >> tom, real quick, i know clinton campaign was planning to hold fireworks and everything in new york city and they pulled the plug on that whole thing. you have to wonder ft. tightness of the polls is playing into the fact it may have looked presumetive? >> reporter: well, you know, you don't want to be looking like you're spiking the football before anybody has
that is what they call in the politics business bad optics. you know, we also have a situation here in new york rights now of security profile, you know, we have long known that this was going to be designated national security incidents by hillman security and new york city police department. in fact, today, new york city police were fanned out throughout the city with with herk uhe's teams and elite counter tesh rix squardz and fbi throughout the city and other locations. why? well, dhs did say they had information, although no exact location information, that terrorist elements including isis oral kid amay be trying to launch some sort of attack somewhere in the united states, possibly new york. possibly virginia. possibly texas. i can tell you as we made our way into the new york city city
here today that was amplified all the more. you can see there definitely was a show of force being made here tonight in the city that never sleeps. >> i imagine it was tough getting a around vrn thing places in new york city what kind of security are they expecting. >> there's 1299 poling places between fiveboros of new york city. what the new york city commission is is sending out enforcement at all of them. new york city is well aware of of the fact that especially in this very democratic stronghold here today you can have very long lines of voters. and this just does not go for new york. it goes for d.c. and other areas. they know people standing in long lines could possibly been tition target for any lone wolf or organized activity. they're aware of this and say they're taking steps to address it and the hope is that by the time midnight strikes tomorrow night
please of the united states and that hopefully in the eyes of law enforce. there are none of these attacks they're concentrating on. >> we have hanging chad incident that it could go on for hours. >> other issues of course, tom fitzgerald, thank you so much. >> all right. both candidates making multiple stops in multiple swing staiingts today in the final push for votes. >> "fox5" ronica cleary is here with a last look at the day on the trial and how social media today's events as well. >> it's my first thing to talk b let's listen to the can dailts. both trump and clinton are placing resources in virginia. you heard tom talk about the polls. not in the place where hillary clinton maybe expected them to be in the final pushes up to election day. now, just after mid might this morning donald trump made a end up in leesburg and while trump is making stops in florida, north carolina, pennsylvania, new hampshire, and michigan

so, tonight, i'm asking for your vote. and tomorrow, let's make history together. >> well, beyond the candidates and campaign stops, my favorite way to watch all of this unfolded is throughout lens of social media. if you're on snap chat you probably noticed two election themed filters. now one was sponsored by hillary clinton with the slogan i'm with her and if you take the photo you can put yourself inside the slogan and another sponsored by snap chat that know election day is tomorrow. and if you like twitter emojis you'll love the newest election-themed one with who else, everyone's favorite ken bone who rose toe internet fame after wearing the red sweater and asking a question in the second town hall debate. use the #myvote2016 for this ken bone emoji to come up.
