trying to determine if what he told them is the full story. brad sattin is in north philly. brad some pretty dramatic phone video caught what happened. >> reporter: lucy it is dramatic. we'll show that you cell phone video in just moment. the initial reports came in as a fire bomb. vet gators at this point are thinking there may not have actually been a bomb involved just a big fire. i'm going to step out of the way. cars are here but on the other side of the scars where that vehicle was through the course of the day. it was hauled away by police about 90 minutes ago. this all played out around 5:00 o'clock this morning. the fire ball as we mentioned caught on cell phone video. >> oh, my god. how could he have survived that? >> reporter: that's what neighbors are trying to figure out tonight. drama cell phone video showing a massive car fire and a series of explosions around 5:00 this morning near the corner of cleveland and dauphin streets. >> something i never heard before. i mean it was loud. shook the whole house. >> reporter: followed by several more. >> four, five. i mean it just kept blowing up and blowing up and blowing up.

>> a bang. explosions. about four, five explosions. >> reporter: four windows across the street where broken and glass from the car was shattered down the sidewalk. the man was able to get to neighbors for help. >> when we came outside the car was on fire and it started exploding and exploding and the gentleman came running up. he said i got burned. i got burned and we call the ambulance. >> he had his hands up. so i don't know he got burned or what. >> reporter: investigators spent 12 hours here peacing together what happened. for now police are telling they're investigating this has a fire and not a bombing. the car was hauled away late this afternoon erasers recovers at temple university hospital. investigators were able to get inside his home late this afternoon a dramatic scene playing out as neighbors were just wakin waking up many frustd with the violence. >> it's not good for kids. seeing so much violence. >> investigators left the scene about 30 minutes ago. about 10 minutes ago i had the chance to talk to the victim's brother who tells me that his

brother indeed was in the car when this fire happened. the brother has since been released from the hospital. he is back home now recovering. dawn, back to you. >> all right, brad, thank you. skyfox over a deadly accident in peddler's village in bucks county. it happened in the area of rou route 263 and street road late this afternoon. police say a person was hit and killed by a car. the driver of that car was found a short distance away. still no word right now if any charges will be facing the driver. right now all lanes of 422 are shut down. this is why. skyfox over a crash on u.s. 422 in upper providence just past 5:00 this afternoon. police tell us that a car hit two pedestrians. no word right now how badly they were injured. in tulsa, okay objection prosecutors have just announced that the officer who police say shot and killed terrence crutcher during a traffic stop has been charged with first degree manslaughter. now that officer was previously identified as betty shelby. 40-year-old crutcher can be seen

in police video apparently walking with his hands raised before collapsing to the ground. prosecutors say arrangements are being made right now for officer shelby to surrender. an attorney for relatives of key lamont scott says the family will view police video of the shooting. that could happen sometime tod today. the deaths of the 43-year-old charlotte, north carolina man sparked violent protests in that city for two nights separate straight now. this all began tuesday afternoon when a police officer who is black shot and killed scott. police say scott refused to drop a gun. scott' family claims he did not have begun and that the 43-year-old was holding a book. but police say they found no book at the scene and that they did find a gun. the shooting sent people in the streets tuesday and wednesday nights, and last night a civilian shot another protester in the head. we are now hearing that he has died. and city leaders are urging ca calm. >> i ask again for calm,

peaceful demonstrations from our citizens. it is important that we have a full and transparent investigation of the original incident, and we are working very hard in the collaborative way to ensure the integrity of that investigation. >> meanwhile the local naacp says police need to release video of the incident to everyone. >> we all stand together declaring there must be transparent see and the videos must be released. >> amen. >> and there needs to be -- (applause). >> -- a federal standard in these issues. >> yes. >> north carolina governor pat mccrory declared a state of emergency and deployed the national guard this morning. its role is to protect infrastructure meaning stores and businesses and homes from looters. back to the fox 29 weather authority. it might be the first day of fall, but those summer like temperatures are still hanging

on as we take live look at the philadelphia skyline. really beautiful night out there. meteorologist scott williams though tracking big change in our forecast. scott. >> dawn, certainly right. a lot of temperatures changing over the next several days. but the high in philadelphia look at this 87 degrees. right now we're at 84. it could be even hotter by this time tomorrow out ahead of that front. 80 current until trenton. 84 in wilmington. 79 in millville. cooler mid 70s right now atlantic city and wildwood. so for this first evening of autumn we're looking at temperatures close to 80 still by 7:00 o'clock. but by 11:00 o'clock, low 70s. it's going to be a cool and comfortable overnight. but you can see that front it's well to the north and west right now around the great lakes. that won't arrive until the upcoming weekend. so in a time being coming up we'll talk about near 90 tomorrow. the dramatic drop and when to expect the coolest temperatures for the morning since may across parts of the area. back to you.

>> all right, scott, talk to you soon arrest tonight in hit-and-run in the city's fair hill section. authorities say driver hit two people at second and allegheny avenues. it happened this afternoon. skyfox was over the scene today. two blocks away from the crash and that's where police found the driver's car. we don't yet know how the pedestrians are doing. a tragic scene in delaware county. a woman murdered right in front of a friend's home. now police found the knife not too far from the scene but the killer remains on the loose tonight. >> that's right. tonight police have person they want to talk to. fox 29's karen hepp has the latest on the investigation out of yeadon. >> reporter: the killer left a lot of clues and a very lamp long blood trail with evidence all along the way. right now police think they're getting closer to catching murderer of 32-year-old natasha gibson in yeadon last night. their person of interest is a convicted criminal mark epps. >> we have recovered what we believe the murder weapon is. we recovered the victim's property, and at this point here we are aggressively looking for

this individual to question hmm. >> reporter: police say, epps was the victim's former boyfriend and had been threate threatening to kill her. last night, someone slashed her throat right here on bailey street. the fight was so brutal the attacker was also injured and dripped blood for more than mile. a trail investigators follow flood upper darby and finally philadelphia. >> during the tracking of the blood droplets we were able to notice a larger amount of blood near a sewer inlet. as a result we opened up that sewer inlet at 61 the and baltimore and what we found was, we believe, to be the murder weapon. a steak 95 with blood covered handle and blade. >> reporter: investigators say they also found the victim's purse on the roof this building and they have lots of video. >> the video tape shows an individual walking passed these video cameras. >> actually in one photo you can actually see that he has -- he's

bleeding from his right hand or right arm. >> i was so totally devastated. >> heart broken friends fight back tears saying gibson was a good mom and deserved better. >> she was sweet and she was kind and i don't have nothing but nice things to say about her because she was my friend. >> reporter: investigators think a small bat may have been involved in this attack. they have not recovered that. if you have any information, please call the yeadon police. i'm karen hepp, fox 29 news. it's definitely dramatic and it shows two guys trying to break into a public storage facility in northeast philadelphia. the way they went about it even has police astounded. the pair used a large u-haul to ram down the front door in a braze burglary on septembe september 15th at the public storage facility at 2700 grant avenue. now police say once the truck had plowed the door down, you can see a guy hops out of the passenger side makes his way into the office and right to save hidden under a desk. hmm. investigators suspect this job

register. it all happened yesterday around 4:30am. nobody injured though. prosecutors in montgomery county have released very concerning figures. >> they say overdoses are up 138% from last year. the district attorney's office says in 2015 the county had 187 overdoses resulting in 71 deat deaths. between january and july of this year alone, officials report 260 overdoses and 85 deaths. prosecutors say they have they are doing everything they can to try to stop this crisis. nearly 70% of police departments in the county are now equipped with narcan a drug that can reverse the effects of an overdose. prosecutors are working to equip all stations with the drug. disney says it will no longer sell a halloween costume that has people upset. boys costume based on the polynesian character from the new movie my want in a. features brown long sheets, pants and full body tattoos. some critics call it a new form of black face. disney apologized says it

saturday to drop those temperatures. but in the meantime out ahead of that front, 89 degrees. that will be the high temperature for tomorrow. that front will stay to the north of us during the entire day. it will move through overnight maybe a spotty shower for the north and western suburbs but most of us will stay dry. here the other concern for tomorrow. take look at the counties all of delaware north and west of the i-95 corridor that code orange air quality alert. asthma, upper respiratory disorders. the elderly you might want to limit your outdoor exposure due to the ozone and pollution kind of increasing out ahead of that front. temperatures saturday morning in the 60s but then by saturday afternoon high temperatures only upper 60s to low 70s across the area. so a dramatic drop from friday into saturday then take look at the temperatures on sunday morning. we're looking at 40s north and west. so it's going to be some of the coldest air we've seen since may across the area. then take look by sunday at
