>> live from center city in philadelphia this is fox 29 news at 11. so we hear a hot about fake news these days. our area is not immune and hollywood a listers are getting dragged into it. good evening i'm lucy noland. it's all going down in lehigh county of all places and includes among others bruce willis and appearance at a local ice cream shop. only catch is that it's as you probably guessed bogus. dave kinchen reports from allentown. >> kind of dumb whoever sent that. why would you make that kind of a post. roar report kerry is not buying the facebook invite to eat ice cream with bruce willis at ice cream world nearly a len town and it's a good thing, too, because it's fake. >> i think it's kind of silly. like it's obviously not going happen. >> reporter: fox 29 investigation revealed that someone posted the fake event on facebook and used what clearly looks like a doctored picture
showing willis holding an ice cream cone. >> clearly photo shopped it's clearly fake. >> they put background into his picture. >> reporter: after numerous calls ice cream world posted on social media it knows nothing about the event. though they'd love to meet bruce willis if he were to show up. but it didn't stop there. >> just crazy. the phones were ringing over dinner and we're busy as it is on wednesdays. >> reporter: separate facebook event post said people could hang out with samuel l. jackson and bruce willis at staley's bar on november 17th. a shock to the owners. >> people won't take no for an answer. people were coming in with the sprint out from their computer saying he's going to be here. no, they're not. >> reporter: they won't be here either. in fact further investigation revealed the fake event at staley's was canceled and moved to mahoney's irish pub down the street. >> they say they heard about it on facebook and they want to know how they can get here and do they have to sign up and all kinds of stuff. and basically said it's a hoax. i wish they were coming but they're not. report roar this, too, proved to
be a hoax. bruce willis was apparently spotted at an allentown area restaurant as seen in this picture on the lehigh valley with love instagram page and he's in the area shooting a movie. >> it would be great if they came. it would be wonderful. but to man an event that for us would be crazy for us because we're pretty busy, you know. clearly having technical difficulties there. but that was dave kinchen roaring from allentown for us. let's get to delaware. house went up in names and then a barn and now authorities have arrested a man who they say set that fire. prosecutors have charged 41-year-old christopher greg with arson. the fire started this morning on the thee hundred block of van dyke green spring road in townsend. no one is hurt but the damage estimate comes right around $250,000. skyfox over the delaware river where the philadelphia police marine unit pulled a man from the water. it was sadly a tragic ending to the search for the 83-year-old
man fred anton didn't make it. he died a short time later. police found him in the river along north christopher columbus boulevard. now the last time that people who knew him had seen him was last night. no cause of death as of yet. we have more insight tonight showing just how serious law enforcement in new jersey is getting about stopping down distracted drivers. no one is safe from police if they're not abiding by the law. not even governor chris christie's wife. a bernardsville mirror gave the garden state's first lady a ticket for driving with a phone. our chris o'connell is live in camden. chris. >> reporter: lucy, just goes to show you, no one is above the law. even if you are the wife of governor chris christie, if you do wrong, you may get busted. yes, if your name is mary pat christie, she knows that all too well. that is her white chevy suburban seen here in police dash cam video pulled over by bernardsville mirror.
this was back in april. but just released today. according to police, she was looking down at her phone while behind the we'll. the stop came during a grant funded distrac distracted drivig operation order beside christi christie's administration. fellow drivers say if you got to do the crime, you got to do the time that's right, sir even if it's a $250 fine. >> i think it just means we're all human, and pay the fine, take the points. >> i used to do it but i try not to. because they're really vick about that and i have kids. look i said, there's so many accounts called by that. >> reporter: kids are more important than phone call. >> more important. exactly. >> reporter: now mary pat christie did appear in court. she did plead guilty and paid her $250 fine. back in may. we tried to reach out to the governor's spokesperson about the citation. the governor spokesperson says, it's a non-story lucy.
>> all right. there you go. chris o'connell. thank you much. less than day after gunman shot at him a camden county police officer is already smiling as he recovers from his hospital bed. army reservist and police officer patrick o'hanlon gave two thumbs up today. he's recovering after a bullet struck his leg and one nearly hit him in the head. he left his patrol car around 10:00 to approach three suspicious looking men he says. when one of the men the 21-year-old officer -- actual the one of the man ran the 21-year-old officer chased and knock him down which is when police say 19-year-old dell ron may han they describe as a gang member shot at him it. >> appears that the suspect tried to shoot the officer a second time in the face, but the gun did not go off. the officer was able to wrestle the gun away. >> can you imagine? he faces a slew of charges including a itemed murder. at the scene today much different site community which witnesses those types of crimes
far too often gathered for a picnic. the hope is tomorrow the officer also get out of the hospital. another story from camden county police tonight a heart warming one. one of their lieutenants shared the stage today with the man whose life he saved. quite a story. the department in camden county board of free older whos honored lieutenant kevin lutz for his heroism at a good samaritan at a car crash scene. 54-year-old annie, was driving northbound on i-295 near moorestown on the morning of july 24th when he went into cardiac arrest crashed his car. well the off duty lieutenant saw it happen, pulled over, dragged anthony from that car. >> his head was cocked back and he was -- he was blue and he wasn't breathing. >> i feel like all the things that had to fall into place for everything to work out the way it did is truly just miracle. >> right time, right place, right guy. >> under statement, yes. >> let's face it today the police get a bad wrap and it's wrong much it's so wrong.
>> he recovered from his injuries quickly enough to walk his daughter down the aisle after her wedding in mexico just 18 days later. he says he's grateful that god put kevin lutz in his path. both men will be our guests tomorrow on good day. when you reach for fire extinguisher i'm sure you're hoping it works. but the us consumer product safety commission says millions of kism dde brand don't work as advertised. so they're under recall. the commission says the extinguishers may not work because they get clogged or require just too much force to operate. the recall impacts extinguishers with either plastic handles or push button. you've always got to be a step ahead of at least some kids and in delaware county police have been doing just that and having quite a bit of fun doing it. upper darby police sent out a series of tongue and cheek tweets warning teens this parties and were they might just

♪ happening right now some big changes in the works for the philadelphia school district. today mayor kenney asked the school reform commission run by the state to end its 16-year role controlling city schools. a nine member board appointed by the mayor would replace it but returned to local control does not come without big concerns over a nagging issue. it's school funding district faces a 1 billion-dollar budget hole in its five-year plan. >> it will need additional
funding for public schools not only in the city of physical but in the state. >> all right. so in two weeks the school reform commission is expected to take that vote to send itself packing. we'll see what happens with th that. philadelphia mess are looking for a man who posed as verizon worker and sexually assaulted a young woman. we have surveillance video of the guy police are looking for. police say it all went down monday morning at a home on the 4900 block of mulberry street in frank for. the man knocked on the door said he was a verizon worker there to fix the cable box. he got inside the home. he began to assault the 18-year-old, but she fought him off. >> the complainant was able to grab a hold of a sword that belonged to family member there and threaten him with the sword. >> there was a very large sword and she pointed at him and he ran right out the house. >> if you have any information about what happened, please call police.
so let's take a look outsi outside. shall we? it's the ben franklin parkway right that. looks nice and clear, doesn't it? but fog could be rolling on in and of course that could make for a treacherous commute. one of the worst things travel in is heavy fog it's scary as all get out. >> absolutely. obviously when it's dark as well. sunrise until later in the morning after 7:00 so it will be an issue in the morning 4:00 a.m., 5am, 6:00 a.m., 7am it will be problem. on the parkway it's beautiful night. not much wind that's part of the problem with creating this fog. ultimate doppler showing mainly clear sky over the delaware valley. temperatures still warp in the 60s. 56 in pottstown. 64 in reading. 65 in allentown. at this late hour in november. that's pretty much unheard of. look at the whole northeast, you can see it's warm in burlington and boston it's 60 degrees. hazardous weather for the morning, dense fog, likely. not everywhere. but it will be existing i think on the i-95 corridor and especially to the south and east this is what we have. visible less than quarter mile
in some spots come tomorrow morning. light winds, clear skies, and the dew points that moisturizing up a little bit. that's in the lower levels of the atmosphere and that's going to trap that fog. so as we go hour by hour, no issues right no but by tomorrow morning at about 5:00 a.m., you can see this reduced visibility down to 2 miles in philadelphia. 2 miles in atlantic city. and then it gets little bit worse by 7am1 and three quarter mile visible. you can see in trenton about a mile. so it will be reduced in some areas and then by 8:00 o'clock, still much of the same. it does start to improve as the sun gets higher in the sky. we can see the atmosphere drying out a little bit. 9:00 o'clock improve many. ten, 11:00 o'clock no problem. full sun and also warming temperatures. take look at these numbers. overnight in the 50s everywhere. 59 degrees in philadelphia. 59 in millville. 56 in allentown and 54 in the poconos. tomorrow it's going really nice afternoon high temperatures in the 70s in the poconos 62 reading 73. the possibility of a passing

two new jersey high school refs walked off the field in protest at a football game recently after thee players from the home team took a knee during the national anthem. he says after he's not in favor but of anyone disrespecting our country, flag or national anth anthem. said i'm against it so i decided to protest for them kneeling. the problem with all of this it was planned. so the 54-year-old wasn't really protesting anything. rather he wanted attention and he got it. the business owner knew the players might take knee and his decision to walk away put the players at risk. what the athletes did a constitutionally protected act whether you agree with it or n not. the refs forced the action already had a lawyer and had told the schools about an hour before the anthem that he would walk. so he septembered the assignment but chose to walk. bottom line he shouldn't be a loud to rev any more games period because they left the game, they had to be played with the refs in training. so a few days ago some racist posts by lee are a deli was
