Winner of the PEN/Faulkner Award American Booksellers Association Book of the Year Award San Piedro Island, north of Puget Sound, is a place so isolated that no one who lives there can afford to make enemies. But in 1954 a local fisherman is found suspiciously drowned, and a Japanese American named Kabuo Miyamoto is charged with his murder. Using high-speed photography, Dr. Masaru Emoto demonstrates that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. Water that flows from clear springs or has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns, while polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical, dull-colored patterns. Since humans and the earth are composed mostly of water, these findings have...
