A story of the nomination of Robert Leffingwell for Secretary of State, and the battle within the Senate to both defeat him and confirm him. Many of the characters - the majority leader, the President, senators, and Leffingwell himself - bear startling resemblance to political characters in history such as Sen. Robert Taft, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, and Alger Hiss

The new novel in NYT bestselling Griffin's bestselling Corps series takes his marine heroes to Korea. Summary Griffin, author of the bestselling "Brotherhood of War, " takes his Marine heroes to Korea in the biggest Corps novel of them all. Filled with crackling realism, adventure, and rich characters that are his hallmarks, "Under Fire" is further proof, as Tom Clancy says, that "W.E.B. Griffin is a storyteller in the grand tradition."

On steamy Pryan, never-ending sunlight and plentiful rain have created a jungle so vast that humans and elves dwell high in the trees and only dwarves live anywhere near the ground. From the treetops the aristocratic elves sell weapons to the other races, whose incessant warfare sends a steady steam of profits and essential resources skyward. Now, generations of dissent and race hatred will not heal -- not even under the threat of annihilation at the hands of legendary Titans. Armed with little...

The year is 1943, and Argentina is officially neutral, but crawling with every kind of spy, sympathizer, and military official imaginable. The hero is Cletus Frade, a Marine pilot recruited by the OSS, with strong family ties to Argentina, and a lot on his hands. OSS chief Wild Bill Donovan has asked him to set up his own official-but-really-OSS airline in Argentina, using "loaned" Lockheed Lodestars and Constellations. Of even more concern are two interwoven German operations: a...
