Original AT&T internal educational publication on the crossbar tandem (XBT) switching system. This switch was a "tandem" switch, and was used to route calls between local central offices only. This type of switch did not have any subscriber lines provisioned to it. The intended audience for this document was switchmen, and the material was most likely delivered in a classroom environment. From the library of the Connections Museum, Seattle
