DESCRIPTION
In 1922 the Arkansas City Junior College was established. For thirty years the College had facilities in the basement of the Arkansas City High School. Because the “basement university” experienced incredible growth, the creation of the college campus began with the construction of Galle-Johnson Hall in 1950.
In 1965 our name was changed to Cowley County Community College and Area Vocational-Technical School to reflect our position of the community college for Cowley County.
The Renn Memorial Library Internet Archive Collection features the college yearbooks, Pulse, President’s Annual Report, and Allan Maag’s Histories of Cowley College.
Cowley Press, the student newspaper of Cowley College, published by the journalism department, is available online for the years 2010-Present. The Online Archive of the Cowley Press may be accessed at the following link:
