Contains moving images of a Big Trees Excursion Train, dated July 23, 1950. It begins at the San Francisco Third and Townsend Street depot, with images of activity around the depot. It then shows Southern Pacific steam locomotive no. 4402 backing onto the train. The film features several scenes of passengers boarding along the San Francisco peninsula, as well as various activity in San Jose. The film then visits Watsonville Junction where San Diego and Arizona Eastern steam locomotives no. 26 and 103 are attached. Next are images taken at Santa Cruz where the special train is greeted by a brass band. There are several shots of the train at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk and at the Santa Cruz depot. There are also many photo run-bys taking place near the Santa Cruz region.
