To SpeedyBeetle (Non-Review, Mostly)
Speedy: I can tell from your review that you, like myself, did not grasp or understand what this movie is actually about. When I first saw it, I hated it, even though I knew/know several key people involved with it. Later, when I found out what the movie actually means, I loved it. Completely. Got it, understood it, and wow. Verhoeven is a master satirist, and this film, like his ROBOCOP, is a total parody/satire of the extremist fascist, and also extremist fascism. In many ways it's difficult to watch, just for that reason (like ROBOCOP, which is a bit different, but similar). The opening commercial makes me cringe, the uniforms, the entire premise of the "bugs"--- kinda heavy under the hood. The entire film is filled wall-to-wall with these anti-fascist ideas, and the characters are taken apart as "humans" living with and supporting the fascist mind. Which, ironically, is the precise opposite of the novel! Funny how these things work out, isn't it?

A Overall 4/10 Movie
Personally I liked this movie when I first saw it. Mainly cause I was a hormonal teenager and any movie with naked chicks was amazing. But now looking back I would still recommend this movie to CERTAIN people. The story is overall a little choppy, but the reasons why this isn’t a 3 star is because of Carmen. I just think she is annoying and really cruel to Rico and who ever that on pilot guy’s name is. She is bouncing back and forth between them and probably someone else. But enough about my preferences. If you want some decent comedy and gore and have 2 hours, I would say watch the movie. Thanks for reading, HAVE A GOOD LIFE.
