This is the first of many installments of anonymous paulson's lost camper tapes - songs that were recorded in a 1966 Prowler 26-foot camper with the help of some borrowed equipment. Here are three of the cleanest-sounding ones. This was before Anonymous Paulson learned that direct sunlight and humidity are not good for tape. Since then, it's been all digital for the group and I. Mind you, the technology got better, but it seems we've pretty much stayed the same.

Evel Knievel LP (1971) Published by Pickside Records, Jackson, MS in 1971, this is one of the best thrift store finds ever.  This LP is not the usual Evel Knievel LP you find on internet searches, which is mostly recorded dialog.  This is ten original songs written and recorded about Evel with his permission, featuring obscure but top-notch country music players and singers.  If you were a boy in America in the '70s, you'll want to check this out. Not available anywhere else - preserved here...

Audiobook version of a public domain booklet published by the Army in 1944, describing the Battle of the Aleutians. (Unfortunately, this means you lose out on seeing all the lovely maps and lively illustrations of camp life.) Hammett and Colodny were stationed on the island of Adak at that time, with Hammett serving as editor of the camp's newspaper, The Adakian .

The almost complete unreleased original recordings of the Unknown experimental musician/noise artist out of Marion, Indiana. Covering the first four years like a certain infamous Black Flag compilation, this album laughably includes tracks from 2006-2012...But we liked this title better than the "First Six Years," so, you know, to hell with it.  These are the original unretouched, unremastered, and often unlistenable audio excursions from author and confirmed neurotic Tom Baker. In this the third Martin Denny - related episode we get down to some record collector nitty gritty stuff as we present a side-by-side comparison between the original 1956 mono recording of his first album EXOTICA and the very different 1958 re-recording for stereo. Not only did the personnel change between the two versions but there are numerous differences in the arrangements of the songs, and we go through the two albums song by song to examine how they re-designed the material in the...

This is a best-of compilation/bootleg based largely on the setlist from Bomb the Music Industry!'s last shows at the Warsaw. It is designed to be recorded on to 90 minute cassette tapes, and is split into two approx 45 minute sides: Side A and Side B. In order to make all of the tracks fit on to two 45 minute sides, some tracks have been lightly edited to make them shorter. Think of them as radio edits, but I didn't cut the swears. I also slightly sped up "I Don't Love You Anymore" to...

Like the crackle at the center of a firestorm, students at Columbia University intensified the anti-Vietnam War movement on April 23, 1968 by starting a revolt against the school administration seizing campus buildings and barricading themselves for days. Eventually the police moved in with military-style force, injuring 140 and arresting more than 700 participants. I aquired a set of V-Disc recordings approximately five years ago (2004). These MP3 files are from that set. Many of the records were somewhat poor quality, and although I have a program that will "clean up" the scratches and noise, I have not used it in these files. V-Discs often had 3 or 4 songs per record. Where there are two songs on a side by the same artist, the attempt was made to preserve the side. Where there are multiple artists on a side, the songs were recorded seperately....

Keep 'em Rolling was a Mutual Broadcasting System show that featured a play each week. Time Magazine said it was sponsored by the Office for Emergency Management (link http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,795612,00.html behind a paywall but you can see part of it). Keep 'em Rolling is also mentioned in this ebook on Archive.org, Radio in wartime: http://archive.org/details/radioinwartime00dryerich ...but any typo or error is mine. :)
