"Mark Hosler is a founding member of the group Negativland , which since 1980 has created records, video, radio, and live performance using appropriated sound, image, and text. Widely known for being sued for their U2 single, Negativland has released many CDs, gone on tours, and was the subject of San Francisco filmmaker Craig Baldwinâs 1995 feature film Sonic Outlaws. Hosler has been aggressively and publicly involved in advocating a significant reform of copyright laws. âNegativland...

"Time for Beany" started on KTLA (Los Angeles) in February 1949 with a 15-minutes "live" show, that aired Mondays to Fridays. When the program moved to KTTV they added a 30-minutes show to be aired on Saturdays. This is the first of those from September 12, 1953.

Comedy and music. Harpo Marx is the guest performer. I do wonder what spuzz and the other Prelinger section people would think of this....it is as far removed from a "Coronet" film as one can get. No, I cannot fix the annoying digital compression....I wish I could but I can't.

Groucho Marx in his extremely popular 1950's television series "You Bet Your Life", which aired on the NBC Television Network. The "secret word" in this episode is "Chair". The series was a comedic game show which allowed plenty of room for Groucho's verbal comedy. Contains original broadcast commercials.

If you think original series for summer are a "new" idea, you are mistaken. This series ran from April to August 1957. An interesting mix of normal music, novelty music, and a truly bizarre finale. Complete with the original, fun commercials for L&M cigarettes and Oasis cigarettes....no registration with the US copyright office as far as I can tell.

An 1940's episode of "Howdy Doody", I think this is from March 1949. This episode is complete with NBC-TV Promo, and two NBC-TV IDs. This program features music, comedy, and the infamous "re-purposed" silent film clip. All of this adds up to an entertaining half hour.

1950 episode of CBS Network's 'The Ed Wynn show' with original Camel commercials. Ed's guests are Helen Forrest, The Three Stooges and William Frawley. This entry was broadcast live March 11, 1950 on the west coast. The Ed Wynn show was the first network series to be aired live on the west coast and have the kinescopes shipped east, where they would air a couple of weeks later. The kinescope of this shown was seen on the east coast March 25, 1950. Ratings were not great, but the show won two...

A bizarre 1952 TV pilot for "The Spike Jones Show", a comedy/variety show. The pilot was not picked up, but Spike Jones did eventually host a series on TV: In 1954 he hosted a mid-season replacement, in 1957 he hosted a summer replacement, and in 1961 he hosted yet another series. (if there's anything wrong with this upload, please let me know).

(DVD Quality) Aired: September 18, 1955 Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis host the season premiere of the series now titled The Colgate Variety Hour. The show opens with Martin as Hal April, the host of The $64,000,000 Question. Lewis plays returning champ Morty M.M. Morton who, against his will, is risking his winnings for more cash. Once he survives a ridiculously hard question in the isolation booth, he's ready for the $64,000,000 question. He's given headphones and placed in a huge tank of water....

Spencer Tracy heads a hilariously zany cast that stars Hollywood's greatest comedians (Milton Berle, Sid Caesar, Buddy Hackett, Ethel Merman, Mickey Rooney, Dick Shawn, Phil Silvers, Terry-Thomas and Jonathan Winters) and features cameo appearances by every joker and jester in the business from Don Knotts and Jerry Lewis to The Three Stooges. Nominated for 6 Oscars, "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" is "an explosive motion picture experience" (Variety)! On a winding desert...
