For Tom, his recently deceased Dad was just that - Dad. He is thus shocked to discover that his Dad was actually an alien from the planet Alan, and that also on the earth are aliens from Alan's deadly enemies on planet Jeremy - these are mostly disguised as traffic wardens. As if that wasn't enough, Tom discovers that the world will be destroyed in days. What can he do to stop it? Silly, but fun.

In 1924, the magazine Scientific American set out to investigate the claims of "Margery the Medium" to be able to contact the spirit world; in the aftermath of World War 1, spiritualism became hugely popular. Among those seeking to test Margery's powers was the arch sceptic, Harry Houdini. The play does not set out to tell the whole story and instead focuses on certain individuals. A detailed critique, for those who are interested, can be found here: ...

Old Harry's Game is a comedy set in...... Hell. Written by and starring Andy Hamilton, Satan is less the epitome of evil, more a long suffering departmental manager having to deal with a difficult and sometimes stupid staff of demons and eternally condemned humans. For me, Series 1 has always been weaker than the ensuing series, as Hamilton found his feet - or should it be hooves? - in this unusual scenario. If you don't like Series 1, do give Series 2 a go.

Not to be confused with the Agatha Christie drama of the same name. Having led the race to make the atomic bomb, Robert Oppenheimer soon finds himself isolated and reviled in a paranoid postwar America. Nemesis focuses on Oppenheimer's desperate attempts at damage limitation, as one by one he sacrifices his most accomplished colleagues, sure in the knowledge that once the process of betrayal has begun, there is no stopping it.
