A collection of eight misc commercials from the 1950s. All are for well-known brands. Some of these commercials I admit are very second-rate. Notice the "salesman" approach seen in most of these commercials. These had been uploaded individually but here they are as a compilation.

LibriVox recording of The Raven and Other Poems, by Edgar Allan Poe. Read by Phil Chenevert "Once upon a midnight dreary, while I pondered, weak and weary, Over many a quaint and curious volume of forgotten lore— While I nodded, nearly napping, suddenly there came a tapping, As of some one gently rapping—rapping at my chamber door. "Tis some visitor," I muttered, "tapping at my chamber door — Only this and nothing more." Those sonorous and somber words of Edgar...

LibriVox recording of The Complete Poetical Works of Edgar Allan Poe by Edgar Allan Poe. Read in English by volunteer readers. In placing before the public this collection of Edgar Poe's poetical works, it is requisite to point out in what respects it differs from, and is superior to, the numerous collections which have preceded it. Until recently, all editions, whether American or English, of Poe's poems have been verbatim reprints of the first posthumous collection, published at New York in...

Librivox recording of Edgar Allan Poe i udvalg by Edgar Allan Poe. Translated by Robet Watt Read in Danish by Kristoffer Hunsdahl. Librivox recording of Edgar Allan Poe Poems by Edgar Allan Poe. Read by Shurtagal. Edgar Allan Poe (1809 - 1849) is widely famed as one of the greatest writers of all time. He is best known for his works of horror, such as "The Tell Tale Heart." However, and this is less known, Poe also wrote many love poems. In this collection of forty-eight poems by Edgar Allan Poe we will go through a wide variety of themes, from horror and raw creepiness in "The Raven" to pure love in...

The Poets on Poets project is an audio archive published by Romantic Circles that testifies  to the continued importance of Romanticism in the contemporary poetry world.  The premise of the collection is simple: we have asked practicing poets from around  the world to read a Romantic-period poem that they particularly admire and that  has influenced the way in which they think about their craft.  The results are gathered here. "The Seven Year Itch" was a racy Broadway play adapted to film by Billy Wilder in 1955. Much of the play's risque content was removed or toned down for the film. Here are two lost scenes. Dialog was rewritten for the famous subway grate sequence. Censorship also led to a surprisingly mild bathtub scene being cut. Nevertheless, the film was a huge box office smash and made an A-list star out of Marilyn Monroe.

Brother and sister dancing duo Tom and Ellen Bowen (Fred Astaire and Jane Powell) travel to merry old England. There, against the backdrop of the impending wedding of royals, they go about the usual comedic pursuit of love. This film is probably most memorable for Astaire's dream sequence that has him dancing on the ceiling. The source is not of the best quality, with analog artifacts and blownout color.
