It is 1860 and newly promoted DI Burdett is set on the hunt for the killer of girls whose bodies are being dragged from London canals. There is no clue as to how they died, save a small piece of ice in their throats. Burdett must find the killer before the body count grows. Irritatingly, Burdett uses techniques such as finger-printing which were not in use in 1860, but that aside, a pacey crime thriller.

Dramatised account of the "summit that was not supposed to happen" between Reagan and Gorbachev in October 1986. Fascinating listening.
