Order in the Court was a syndicated radio drama that related fictional crimes as they were litigated in the courtroom. A nameless courtroom reporter open the show with some details, and the drama would begin as testimony and flashbacks. The series was targeted to a daytime audience, so it would often involve family tragedies, romances gone wrong, or other plotlines. The series was introduced to syndication in 1953.

Radio drama left the air on September 30, 1962, when CBS ran the last episodes of Suspense and Johnny Dollar. There were radio executives, production staff, writers, and actors, who thought that radio drama still had a place in network programming, and ABC Radio thought it was worth a try. In August 1964 the anthology series started with its 20-minute episodes, five days per week, with adventure, drama, science fiction, comedies, and other formats. The most familiar radio voice was announcer...

The few surviving installments of the legendary syndicated old-time radio program, in which Jean King, as Lonesome Gal, fashioned a fifteen-minute-daily persona as the kind-of virtual girl friend to thousands of lonely male listeners in the 1950s. Her trademarks included brief talks between music selections, talks that usually (but not always) ended in a conversational reference to the coming song's title. She even cut a record of her theme song, "Lonesome Gal"---as did Margaret...

Little Orphan Annie was an American radio drama series based on the popularity of the comic strip Little Orphan Annie . It debuted on Chicago's WGN in 1930, then moved to the NBC radio network Blue Network on April 6, 1931. It aired until April 26, 1942. Together with Skippy (1932-1935) it is seen as the oldest US children's radio program. Radio historian Jim Harmon attributes the show's popularity in The Great Radio Heroes to the fact that it was the only radio show to deal with and appeal to...

There is always something for Dr. Tim to mend, whether it be a broken arm with warts all over it, the time that Jill and Sandy were accused of setting fires, or when Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever was blistering folks throughout the town.
