A mad scientist invents an invisibility formula which he plans to use to build an invisible army. Director Edgar G. Ulmer (1904 – 1972) is best remembered for the movies The Black Cat (1934) and Detour (1945). These stylish and eccentric works have achieved cult status, but Ulmer's other films remain relatively unknown.

The Battle of Midway chronicles a significant moment in U.S. History, as have other Ford films like Young Mr. Lincoln (1939) and My Darling Clementine (1946), but the focus here is on ordinary Americans filmed at the time, not famous historical figures seen in retrospect. Although the use of a hand-held 16mm camera will strike some as uncharacteristic of Ford's style, there are many ÂFordian touches throughout the film. Ford weaves voiceover and music into the real footage of the battle,...

Produced by the Highway Safety Foundation in 1964, this shocking film deals with a subject quite taboo for its time. The short serves as a dramatized warning, ending with graphic case studies. Unlike the driver's education films produced by the same company, this film was apparently issued for only a short time before being withdrawn. **CONTENT ADVISORY: Crime scene footage at end will upset some people**

The Shadow - 1933.  This is not the shadow that "knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men;" this shadow is a blackmailer, and the bad guy. It stars Henry Kendall, Elizabeth Allan, and Felix Aylmer.  More information can be found on the IMDB website, if you're into all that.  As for me, I just like watching old movies! This is Lamont Cranston, aka The Shadow; and he knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men. This is a GOOD Shadow movie; although he doesn't seem to have the power to "cloud mens' minds." The print is in good shape. It stars Kane Richmond and Barbara Read. More information can be found on IMDB The source for this upload can be found elsewhere on archive.org. I cleaned up the audio and decided to share it back to this site.

The Shadow Strikes * 1937 This is Lamont Cranston, aka The Shadow. It stars Rod La Rocque and Agnes Anderson. Margo Lane is absent; and the Shadow character lacks the supernatural ability that makes him fun; but it's not a bad whodunnit. There are some funny bits, and some people think of it as a comedy. More information can be found on IMDB The source for this upload can be found elsewhere on archive.org. I cleaned up the audio and decided to share it back to this site.

The Victory of Faith (1933) is the first documentary film directed by Leni Riefenstahl. It documents the Fifth NSDAP Nuremberg Congress shortly after the party came to power The film includes Ernst Röhm, head of the SA and, at the time, the second most powerful man within the Nazi Party. Less than a year later, Röhm attempted, along with other top SA members, a military coup against the elected government of Hitler. The film Triumph des Willens was produced to replace this one and follows...

This film has Lamont Cranston, aka The Shadow, and was the only one that showed him with the power to cloud men's minds, to make himself unseen. It has the look of a TV show, and is reported to have been conceived as a series pilot. The makers decided to release it as a movie, to be shown in theaters, instead. None of the characters from the radio show, other than Lamont Cranston, appear in this story. It's most fun when he uses his mind clouding ability to vanish.

Another military themed movie, made during the 2nd World War, so it's a little on the "gung ho" side. This is a little different from the other copy that is available, here. The opening title music has been restored and the hiss, pop, crackle has been cleaned from the audio. There are a lot of familiar faces, including Robert Lowery, who would later play Bruce Wayne/Batman in the "Batman and Robin" serial (1949).
