Smoldering, sultry, smokey, vamp, sex appeal and languid demeanor come to mind when faced with the unavoidably majestic Julie London. With a voice to smoke a thousand kippers, she strides the easy listening world like a bejeweled dominatrix. 1 - In The Wee Small Hours Of The Night. 2 - The Blues Is All I Ever Had. 3 - I Got Lost In His Arms. 4 - Goodbye. 5 - How Deep Is The Ocean. 6 - Go Slow. 7 - Give A Little Whistle. 8 - Black Coffee. 9 - When The Sun Comes Out. 10 - Like To Get To Know You....

A year later, they jumped to Decca Records, re-cutting their earlier work and adding new repertory over the next two years. The group was very popular for a short time during the late '30s playing the same kind of lean, small group swing-inspired jazz...

This unusual performance begins and ends with Nels playing the tenor recorder (a woodwind instrument), and transitioning seamlessly to electric guitar. Nels has never played a wind instrument before or since (to my knowledge). The performance was at the Alligator Lounge in Santa Monica, California in January, 1997, as part of the New Music Mondays series. The...
