The box was produced later than the books, perhaps in the nineteenth century. The bottom of the box is likely the correct box, but the lid is incorrect. It has the title Sankash (Collection of a Mountain Home) on it, which is the poet Saigy (1118-1190) personal poetry collection

This is a specimen of non-ornamental rule and corresponding corner-pieces with matrices to be used in the Lanston Monotype Type-&-Rule Caster, the Lanston Monotype Material Making Machine / Junior Material Making Machine, or both.  Undated, but probably 1922-1925. For a discussion of the confusing way in which these machines are named in this document, see the original presentation of this digital version at: ...

Engraved t.p. The 21 full-page, foliated monograms with coronets that comprise the 1st series are intended for actual persons, who are named on p. 1 at end. The 58 plates of strap-work interlace monograms that comprise the 2nd series are engraved six to the page, their constituent letters listed on p. 2-3 at end
Topic: Monograms
First leaf is engraved t.p., the rest are engravings of Roman capitals, entablatures, etc., nine of them provided with dimensions. Four are signed in the plate with the initials G.A. beneath a caltrop; one of these has the additional monogram C.R. Three have the monogram P.S., together with the date 1537
Topic: Architecture
Attributed to Benjamin West by Evans. However, it is identical in content and typography, except for the author statement, calendar page verses, and much of the contents of p. [16-22], with An astronomical diary, kalendar, or Almanack, for 1790, by N. Strong (Hartford: Elisha Babcock). The figure is omitted from the eclipse predictions in the Bickerstaff issue
