This print is sharper and brighter than the existing IA copy. Yes this is that infamous mix of new sound footage of two guys in gorilla suits with footage from the silent serial "Perils of the Jungle" (1927), and as such a genuine jaw-dropper that must be seen to be believed. So bad it's good? Absolutely! ..er, well, at least it's hilariously bad. Directed by Harry L Fraser (as H L Fraser) Released in 1945. Complete print. A rarity. Surviving extant fragments of the 1926 production based on Ernest Pascal's story "Egypt". Roughly 1/3 of the film missing. Most of the beginning middle and end of the film are present. All of the material is pieced together in the correct chronological order it appeared in the film. This is the final feature directed by Lois Weber. This film stars the legendary silent screen siren Billie Dove.

The Playhouse is a 1921 Buster Keaton short. It has a very notable scene at the beginning where Buster plays all the cast, crew, band and audience in the playhouse. The scene where 9 Busters dance together was meticulously filmed with Buster doing the same dance 9 times in front of a camera which had a slit open in front of the lens which was moved for each dance. Not only did the dances have to be the same, the cameraman had to crank the camera at the same rate each time. The movie is already...

This is the most commonly available version of The Phantom of the Opera. It is a re-edit of the 1925 version and originally had a synchronized sound score. It is a DVD rip from the milestone edition, with the man with lantern sequence edited in. It is the best available print of the film from the UCLA film and television archives. The soundtrack is Symphony No. 8 in B minor, best known as the "Unfinished Symphony". It is not the best soundtrack for the film, but I was unsure whether...

This is what audiences saw on September 6,1925 at the Astor Theater in New York City. This version is seldom seen and contains material that is different from the 1929 re-release. This print is from The Milestone Edition, the score is Mozart's 40th and 4th symphonies and Franz Schubert's Symphony No. 8 in B minor. Directed by Rupert Julian, Edward Sedgwick and Lon Chaney.

The suburb where it is set is Wooloomoloo, which is an inner city suburb between the CBD and Potts Point. At the time this was film was made, it was a poor area. It is now an expensive, trendy suburb. The billy goat race had to be filmed in Queensland as the New South Wales government had banned such races a year before this film was made. The...

This is the movie that made Rudolph Valentino a star. Written by June Mathis it was released in 1921 and was the best selling movie of that year. It went on to tbe th 6th best selling silent of all time, and at one point it was likely the highest grossing movie of all time due to rereleases (it was bumped by Gone with the Wind's release). For more info about the film and production please see http://forgetthetalkies.com/2008/06/valentino-review-four-horsemen-of.html This film will also...
