My First Show!
This was my first show. Needless to say I was easily convinced to head back for more a couple days later. Wish I had followed them to Atlanta as well.

One of the most brilliant Sugarees I've ever heard. The flat soundboard needs some EQing to sound just right, but it's better than most. Rest of first set very good if not outstanding. Ruben is a nice surprise & well-played despite its infrequency. Second set less impressive overall: too many dueling keyboards.

I was at this show. I was by myself. The set list was different than many of the other Dead shows I attended to date. I can't say why but it just felt different. R&C was a song I did not know. I loved it immediately and the person on my left told me the name. It was very groovy. Listening to this show 21 years later, I'm pleasantly reminded that it was well worth my time back then. I really enjoyed the Atlanta and Orlando shows in Spring 1991. That was my last Dead escapade. I soon married and settled down. This was a great run!

I haven't ventured into the Vince era in a long time an to be honest, only came to hear Reuben & Cherise. I have to say, this show came as a great surprise. Everyone is sounding pretty decent and Bruce, while at times overbearing (UJB), adds a richness to the sound here. Tight first set (did I mention Reuben & Cherise?) and a truly impressive pre-drums second set run. A good listen overall.

A Perfect Show
We all have our favorite years of the Dead, but this is an undeniably strong show. They must have sound-checked R&C 'cause a photographer came by before the show and casually said they'd be playing it. We thought 'ya right'...but they did and it blew us all away...this version is excellent and the end jam has a cadence that's different than the original and works much better IMHO. A Crazy Fingers start leads to a 2nd set with insane jamming, especially from Phil. Plus, the interplay between Jerry and Bob after Playin' and then UJB is one of the finest examples of why I still listen to the Dead everyday. First (and one of only 2) Space>>Box of Rain. GDTRFB was arena-shattering. I cannot get enough of this show. I think this is the best Bruce show but he is not in charge, just pokin' around. Play this show LOUD!!

Great Row Jimmy
Yikes - this has to be one of the best row jimmy's I've ever heard. Bruce rips a sneaky-beautiful piano solo, and after that, jerry turns on the flute/horn MIDI effect and unleashes. I have to agree with a previous reviewer - quintessential Jer right there. The R&C ain't too bad either - the best of the four times the dead played it in my opinion.

Rueben, and 'box of rain' out of space, need I say more?

Talk About Underated
This is truly a stellar show. People talk about their favorite underated shows, and this has to be mine. The first set may be in my top 3 set 1s of all time. As it always did with Bruce, the Jack was jazzy and passionate. A solid Sugaree and WDD follows. From there, it really picks up. GREAT Row Jimmy, followed by an EVEN GREATER BT Wind. R and C? Maybe the best Garcia-Hunter song ever written, and this rendition live up. Great second set too- gotta love Playin'->UJB-> Playin'. ANd Bruce on Baby Blue is always a treat.

I am from Tampa and was 15 years old for my first show, which was also when the Grateful Dead finally came back to Florida after a 3 year hiatus. As soon as I got to Shakedown Street, I got a fresh bag of Oregon flowers and some cool tape covers along with them. My brothers friendwho drove me to Orlando got me on the bus while I got him in the show. We got into the show just in time to get to our seat for Jack Straw. I don't think I sat for the rest of the show.
The first set rocked and went by way too fast. We slipped onto the floor for the second set. I was too young of a Deadhead to realize how cool it was to have the Reuben and Cherise. Now, I listen to it and it's bliss. The outro is sweet.
The second set was a song along for the crowd as any audience tape should make obvious. The songs were fun to listen to and the band looked they had fun playing to the Florida crowd, so eager to get some of the good ole Dead music.
The roof flew off the top of the arena for me in space and I laughed so hard, the guy behind me laughed his ass off, too. Oh, such, sweet bliss with a perfect stranger, too.

Reuben and Cerise
I've been trying to find a decent version of this song. Sound quality is good enough to download...but I haven't been able to it. Sure I can download a bunch of SHN files, but then what? MKwACT, once downloaded, doesn't open for me...I'm lost! Any ideas?

Reuben and Cherise is fitting.

this is a real gem of a show.
excellent 1st set. Jerry's MIDI-flute solo in Row Jimmy is soooo Garcia. Spiraling coils of notes...perfect in execution. really good stuff.
the 2nd set is the meat, and particular nods to disc 2. that is hontest to goodness PRIMAL GD. As good as it gets.
Unbelievable to hear Rueben & Cherise. Anyone find a better version of this song besides Oregon State Prison in '82? One of my all time favorite songs.
Decent overall show. Sound is pretty good. 3 stars

In terms of sound quality, this show is awesome. The performance itself is also very good. Personally, I think this is the best night of the Orlando 91 run, maybe moreso due to song choice and sound than actual performance, but nonetheless, this is must have 91 Dead.
The second half of Playin' gets pretty out there. I can only imagine what some kid from Orlando that was at his first Dead concert this night musta been thinkin'. 4 Stars

All songs played well. Sound/recording is pretty sweet. All those who enjoy '91 will not be disappointed.
