Subject: This could be the last time
BTW this audience recording is way better than the SBD's available. And its a 3 star as the music is just not all the way there, but that was such a small part of the GD experience, but it is what this rating system is about, I'm not rating my experience just the recording and the music.
Subject: lucky me!
though STILL not as good as the 12/17 Space
something was said about this 12/19 show being the last great homestand show......and as far as i know, i agree with that....but only because 12/17 came BEFORE it. to MY ears, 12/17 is actually even better...
but then, i'm a stone fool for Saint of Cirucumstance.....
i feel bad giving only three stars to a pretty good show that i was actually AT, and even remember pretty specifically.....but 5 stars means as good as any show EVER, and four stars means ANYBODY would wish they were there, if they really do love this Terrible Long Road we all went down
three stars is right about where, some folks still think it's five stars, but some folks who know what they're talking about actually HURT, listening to some of it; it brings them PAIN.....but it's really still a much better show than most of the shows that year
and there are moments in this show that do hurt, they remind me of all them things we so happily denied at the time
but it's still a fabulous show, for 1993
and, at the time...........it took me all the way away, and i STILL haven't come all the way back........
it's comin around, y'all!
Subject: Days Between
Sound quality on this one is pretty nice for the Colliseum.
This was a good run in Oaktown.
Subject: last great bay area show
I taped about 50 bay area shows in the 90s, including this date and I'm just now getting around to transfering my post-Brent recordings to CDR.Vince-era shows are a mixed bag and can produce some cringe-inducing moments but this one really jumped out at me as I was burning it. Solid 1st set and a really smoking second. A high point is the post drums segment, including a very "out there" space.
