A demon is born...
The concept of this project is the spontaneous, twisted, and simultaneous brainchild of two guys who were total strangers to each other at the time of its birth: Aaron Mathewson of Indianapolis, IN, and Dean Cain of Winston-Salem, NC.
In early March of 2000, a simple e-mail inquiry from Aaron to Dean concerning a guitar review posted by the latter to Harmony Central (http://www.harmonycentral.com) unleashed a rather long-assed flurry of electronic messages between the two, with 99% of its content consisting of their praise for ESP guitars (http://www.espguitars.com), EMG pickups (http://www.emginc.com), and most of all, their mutual worship of the world's best (and loudest) heavy metal band, Metallica. After merely a few days, the idea was proposed by Aaron that it'd be very cool to record some guitar tracks and piece them together, being that both guitarists were admittedly getting rather bored of jamming along with CDs as their sole accompanying band. Coincidentally, this was an idea that Dean had toyed with in the past, but had not yet been able to concretize it due to his lack of being able to find someone else as dedicated and committed (and crazy?) enough to pull the stunt off. So, with the two guys deciding to join forces in their noise-making effort, it was obvious that Fate had pulled another fast one, but she had no idea of the dimensions of the flood gates she'd just blown wide open...
